Ok. Lety me give it a try now. I can still go back to 3.40 OE-A if I dont like it right? And the recovery menu can still be launched by pressing the R key right?

Yes you can still go back down to 3.40OE.. And the Recovery menu is still triggered with the R.... You are going to like the NEW Recovery menu!!

Ooops... I forgot where I put my charger. I'll just charge this first then I'll give it a try. I still have my 3.03 OE-C Custom xmbs. How do I convert them for 3.40 OE-A? Coz I downloaded a converter but I can't seem to understand what to do with it. Do you know any converter that is user friendly?

Sorry man... I had the same problom trying to convert 3.03 themes to 3.40 OE themes. Just Google 3.40 OE xmb themes or go to http://dl.qj.net and search under 3.40 OE themes. I would give you a link but they are too hard to find. And another thing you dont have to convert the whole thing the only thing that needs to be converted is the top_menu.rco. Everything else is able to be put on.

actually, its topmenu_plugin.rco, not top_menu.rco that needs to be converted.
(+[__]%) put this psp in ur siggy. just do it.

Hi, Im currently using 3.03 oe-c and planning to upgrade my FW bcoz I cant play some games.. Some say i need a higher FW to play it..
Which one's better? 3.30 oe or 3.40 oe? And which one is noob friendly coz i have no idea what to do with recovery, flash and evrything.. And im afraid to brick my psp(im not rich)..
Can any1 teach me how?

So its only the topmenu that i need to convert, meaning.. the wave and all will still work even if its for 3.03OE-C?

I got everything working now. Im on 3.52 M33 and with custom xmb!!! Thanks a lot!!!

Dark_AleX's newest one is 3.40 OE-A...most of the time the highest is better since some games wont let u play without it...

But since Dark_AleX quit making custom firmware, some Russian team called M33 has taken over and made 3.52 M33 (it can play homebrew just like DAX's)

Download one of those unzip them and put the PSP folder in the root of your memory stick and load it through the XMB, also make sure you charge the PSP and keepit plugged in.

Hello there! I got my psp last month w/ 3.11 firmware, does anybody knows how can I upgrade it 3.40 OE-A? do i need to downgrade it first to 1.5? pleaseeeeee help.
and 1 more question, if i upgrade my firmware to 3.40OE-A will I able to play iso games in my psp w/o UMD?

@gieann24 yes to all ur question and the xmb is Cross Media Bar which is the theme, and to downgrade from 3.11 u need a copy of the game lumines

No. What they meant what to upgrade to 3.50 official sony FW and downgrade to 1.5 from there using the games lumines. but you have to make sure that the copy of the game you have is the unpatched version coz it wont work if it is the patched version of the lumines. When you're on 1.5 you can go to any CFW you want. that includes 3.52 M33.

theres no definite way of knowing. go to noobz.eu, they have links to the unpatched version on Amazon.
