You can go HERE to download the .iso of YDL! The file you want is the second to last on the page, it should be called this:
yellowdog-5.0-phoenix-20061208-PS3.iso
This is a link that is on Terrasoft's website (the guys that made YDL)! Hope this also helps...

After installing YDL 5.0 you probably will want to download the new 5.0.1 update. The process involves installing a newer kernal and editing a few files...check terrasoft's website for more info. (The update was released on May 1 so it's fairly new and may not be on any public mirrors yet, but I got mine from someone who was kind enough to upload it on rapidshare.)

If you don't have an HDTV, when you get to the kboot screen, you have to type in ydltext! Then it will load to another page, and you have to follow the directions Ive given so that it will work on a non HDTV!

Nope, you don't lose the wireless settings as far as I am aware. You don't lose your account information (it will still remember password and login info if you checked the boxes for those options previously) and you won't have to remkae all your psn accounts again. Avatars for your accounts remain intact as well. But you will lose your messages in your inbox that friends sent you after partitioning. Not the friend requests though.

Hey Dave,
I have a big problem! I have downloaded the .iso off a torrent site and burnt it to dvd and have completed everything up to installing the yellow dog linux software. I bought a bluetooth keyboard and had it installed BEFORE I started the reformat stage. It was all working fine. Then I completed the bootloader stage all as planned then when I restarted the system it came up with the bootloader with 2 penguins in the top left corner and I inserted the yellow dog .iso. Then it came up with an error: "No VRS found" after quickly being at k-boot:
I cant type anything because its now not picking up my keyboard for some reason, possibly because of the reformat....
What can I do???
PLEASE HELP!!

@carleves
Have you installed YDL already? I say this because, if you already installed it, and are inserting the YDL DVD after you already installed it, then you are having a problem! When YDL is already installed, you don't need the DVD anymore! But, if you haven't installed it yet, then I need to research it some more! I'll get back to you!

Make sure that you are connected to the internet when getting the Xautoconfig! If you are connected, the server may be down at the moment! Try again later!

gerr okay after i did the last configuration i figured i had to reboot so i did and now i've tried logging in ....."kboot: (typed (ydltext)" and then its repeated what i did as if i were going to configure,.....it asks for login and pw, after i type that in it gives me the "[root@localhot"]#" thing again....was i not supposed to type "ydltext" at the begining as i did the first time?

If you don't have an HDTV, you are supposed to do that! You are at the right place! When it gets to [root@localhot"]# this is where you type in to get the Xautoconfig! That is where you typed in to get Xautoconfig! Make sure that when you go and get it, that it is spelled just like it looks: Xautoconfig
You have to have the X capitalized, the system is really picky! Try that and see if it works!

you type in ydltext when the "kboot:" comes up on the screen! Then it will go to another screen that will show 2 YDL Icons, and 6 penguins! Try that!
