Hmmm,,,,,,,, you think so? but other problem might be with the burn in marks,i'm afraid of that too. But its a nice tv, i mean it has good response time, it has all the ports it needs, although i'd wish for 3 or 4 HDMI, but i guess 2 is enough for the near future. and all the other inputs are nice too, including the PC one. Well its great, all I have to do now, is gather enough money for it. Damn, and I got fired from my job like 2 months ago, so I have to find another one now,,,,, that sucks cose it won't leave me so much time to waste.......'

Well I've had two projection Tvs for about three years now and I haven't done any repairs to them. Burn ins are more common with plasma Tvs and it usually only happens when you're have a static image on the screen for LONG periods of time(like a news logo that stays in the same place).
BTW I'm 16.

Could someone help me out, I keep on getting this
"The file libgc j-4.1.1-1.ydl.1.ppc.rpm cannot be opened. This is due to a missing file or perhaps a corrupt package. If you are installing from CD media this usually means the CD media is corrupt, or the CD drive is unable to read the media."
[REBOOT]
This happens a few seconds after package selection tries to run.
Can anyone help me?

hey, if u burned it on CD, maybe something got lost on the way. But you should put it on flash drive, or memory card. If that aint problem, just re-dowload from a better source. U can check 1 page back, a guy sent me a link with the CD image with bootloader all in one. U can dowload that one, but be sure u burn it at a very slow speed. I recomand at about 2x to 4x. No need to risk loosing information.
BTW, i wans't expecting a guy line u abuzar, to b 16, u seem very mature.

Haha thanks. I've been fixing up little electronic stuff since I was seven so I have been buying our familys TVs seen I was ten lol. Kinda get to know this stuff.
I got my first HDTV when the Xbox 360 came out. I had a party, it was mad fun. Although half the time we played Halo 2, not any Xbox 360 games, and the other half we played football lol.

LOL, i better throw a party 2 when i get my tv.
Oh, my b-day is on 30th , and maybe my parents will decide to make me a present by helpin out with the TV.
We'll see.
But u r lucky cose u got electronic Stuff from small. I personaly am an imigrant, and kinda dindn't know how to even power on a computer, intil like 4 years ago. lol. Sucked for me in those times.

Hmmmm, your english is exeptional, never would have guessed that u r from pakystan. I have a question. Is there any way i can play warcraft on my PS3, cose I think i van find somewhere a windows emulator, but i dono is PS3 can handle it. what do you think?

Well I did learn English back home as well. As for the Warcraft bit, sorry but you can't play World of Warcraft on the PS3. It's because, while Sony has opened up the PS3 to Linux, the graphics chip is disabled when it's running Linux. With a minimal graphics mode you can't hope to run WOW.
By the way, where are you from?

Hmmmmmm,,,,,, I was hoping to play warcraft 3 Frozen throne online , u know in B-net. Cose i kinda figured that WoW won't work on it. Warcradt 3 dosen't have such big requirements, but i guess i will see later on, when i will actually understand what the hell i am doing on the linux. By the way, i kinda deleted my taskbar that is at the bottom of the screen in desctop 1, do u have any idea how to get it back? U lnow, the one that has the shortcuts to start, firefox, oppenoffice and other crap.
BTW, I am originaly from Moldova, probably never herd of it, u can look it up. But now i'm in Toronto, canada.

PLEASE someone help!!! How the heck do I UNINSTALL YELLOW DOG LINUX. I did a full format and then restored my PS3 telling the system to partition all of the hard drive to the PS3 game OS, but ydl is still on the ps3 as another OS!!! What is going on?

How do I reset my root password in YDL?
I installed it about two months ago, but I can't remember what the password is! =(
Isn't there a password reminder option? I looked for it at the login/pass screen but don't see it anywhere....

hi all i have a problem i have a new ver of ydl its the one with all i need on the dvd, i insatll it all it says its all insatlled and that i have to remove all media used and reboot by pushing enter, i do that and when the ps3 boots back up i am at the same screen as i was at the begaining with the 2 pengrains i have typed root and i get i dont have the permison and if i leave it it say some ing about it cleaning somthing and the screen gose black can any body help me

A little after the Penguins It will come to the kboot: promt for a few seconds. type: yld480i and hit ENTER it will continue booting to the logon screen where you enter: Root and the password you used during the installation.
yld480i tell it you have a SDTV and not HD (that's why your screen gose black NO HD)

Using your home computer make a folder in the root of a USB drive, make a folder PS3. Inside the PS3 folder, make a otheros folder.
Copy the otheros.bld file into the otheros folder on the USB drive. assuming X is your usb drive (X:\PS3\otheros\otheros.bld)
Start the PS3 and go to Settings -> System Settings and format your Hard Disk. Once the Hard Disk is formatted, just click on Allot 10GB to Other OS. (Bear in mind that you can allot more space if you have a bigger hard disk. Now plug in the USB drive into the PS3 and go to Settings -> System Settings -> Install Other OS. It will ask you to select the Other OS. Once you press the appropriate button, it will give you a warning. Accept it. You will see a black screen for a few moments. This is perfectly fine. Once done, you will be brought back to the PS3's Game OS. Go to Settings -> System Settings -> Default OS. Select Other OS from the list.
Reboot your PS3 with the YDL DVD inside the PS3 drive. After a lot of scrolling text, you should see a kboot prompt
Type installtext at that kboot prompt ( You only have a short time to type this before it tries to mount automatically)
kboot: installtext
Let it run the installation. At one point, it will ask you for the password. Enter a password, and remember it! You will have to start from scratch if you forget! Let it continue with the installation again. After installation is complete, remove the disc and reboot your PS3. You will get the kboot prompt again. ( You only have a short time to type this before it tries to mount automatically)Type ydltext or ydl480i
kboot: ydl480i
Wait for it until it gives you a login prompt like this one: localhostlogin:
Here, enter root and press enter. When it asks you for the password, enter the password which you set during installation.
localhostlogin: root
password:
There are a couple other steps but this is a good start!
