"you have to create the card you havent done that yet, since you already converted your battery and not the thing that actually runs pandora thats why it isnt working, do the firm. install then do the msipl then try again"
What do you mean 'create the card' - 'do the firm' and 'msipl'? I followed the tutorial exactly. I even found a more detailed tutorial and double checked with that one. I don't think I missed any steps.
Here's what I did:
1. Reformatted my memory stick using the PSP's reformat option.
2. Reformatted my memory stick using the mspformat.exe, via the cmd window.
3. Used the installer provided on the first page of this tutorial to install Pandora onto the memory stick.
4. Removed memory stick, completely powered off PSP, re-inserted memory stick, turned PSP back on.
5. Launched Pandora's Battery Creator.
6. Hit Triangle to create backup of eeprom.
7. Re-launched Pandora's Battery Creator.
8. Hit X to create the battery.
9. Turned off PSP and removed battery.
10.Put battery back in PSP. Green Power light immediately came on, screen remained black, couldn't power off PSP.
I was able to recover the battery, by reflashing the eeprom, but it's still not a Pandora's battery. So I'd like to figure out what I missed before I try again.
Thanks for your help!

You didn't miss anything, but you havn't created the Pandora memory stick yet, so the battery won't work yet (Because it's just on it's own), the PSP so far is forced by the battery to search for firmware files on the memory stick, which there are non.
So, when you have made the Pandora battery don't turn off your PSP or take out the battery before you have followed the other steps to create the memory stick.

Back up the eeprom code by pressing triabngle at the menu screen of the Battery making app, then after you've downgraded, turn the psp on using a charger, then put the pandora battery in when the XMB has loaded, and run the Battery making app once more, press L + R to re-write the original eeprom back to the battery.

Once your Battery and MS are Ready to go,
turn all off,
unplug Power,
unplug Pandora Battery,
unplug the MS,
then plug in the Pandora Battery,
the Power light comes on,
NOW plug in the Magic Memory Stick,
and the Wireless and MS led will flash for a bit, and works.
its the Plug in sequence thats the important.

Sigh...I don't understand. You say "don't turn off PSP or take out the battery before you have followed the other steps to create the memory stick." What other steps!? I'm getting so frustrated. There are no other steps listed in the tutorial. There aren't any other steps listed in any other tutorials I've found online. I created the battery, it exited the Pandora Battery Creator app and...that's it. There's no other instructions or options listed anywhere about how to create the memory stick.

Pumkin54.. I had the same problems,
I was on ther verge of Giving up, when I started Reading through all the msg's on this thread,
so, turn your Battery back to a normal on,
Format the Memory STick,
then use this Tutorial that is on Page 9 of this thread,
http://igizmore.blogspot.com/2007/08/mak...tery-magic.html
That guide got me through it,
it was my Other Brothers PSP with 3.52 on, he is now Very happy to be running CFW 3.40OE-A

The GUI didn't make the MS for me. It made the battery. It basically did exactly what I'd already done manually and still left me without a magic memory stick. Of course, I have Vista, so the msinst.exe is buggy and keeps returning an error message. I'll have to wait until tomorrow and go to a friend's house to use her XP OS.
The one good thing about the GUI, besides the fact that it's so easy to use, is that it installed 3.52 M33-4 for me. I was only on 3.52 M33 and was wary of installing the update on my own. So that problem was solved for me! :)
I agree, though, that this tutorial is really not very complete. It's missing half the necessary files and it leaves out about half the steps needed to actually make the battery/memory stick. It just seems that the original post should be updated to reflect all the missing steps and questions that have arisen over the course of the thread.

To the person that suggested you format your memory card after you make the battery - You'd delete your backed up eeprom code, so before you DO format, copy it to your PC, or easier still, deep format it before you do any of the steps, it's what any complete tutorial suggests.

I dont know if you did this or not, but did you first format the memory stick using the function from the psp settings menu? You have to format it from there before you can use the mspformat utility.
Ok ill go thru all ive done.. 1. Format Memory Stick Via Psp. 2. Attempt to logically format but displayes "Open error <Write>" im so confuzd. :S
That error would normally mean that you are trying to write to something that is write-protected...Like if you were trying to format or copy files to a 1.44 floppy, and you have the little lock switch up....
Try formatting via your PC-go to My Computer and right click on the removeable drive letter that your PsP is when connected, and click "format" from there...Then try formatting logically...
I Have Tried this and still nothing. :( Im starting to get annoyed >:@

Refresh my memory, what size memory stick are you using again? Is it a genuine pro duo 256MB or greater? Or do you have a fake stick-because thats the only thing I could think of if its not allowing you to write data to it...Also if you are trying to use the 32MB memstick that comes with the PSP, it wont work either-It has to be a "pro duo"....
