hexitnow, much appreciated guys. I sucsessfully downgraded 2 PSP's for a m8 at work this morning and it worked a treat. I'm sure I will now have a cue waiting for me when I go back to work :)

A wee question as I'm a wee bit confused. Another m8 has just bought a UK slim & light. Can I put the new M33 CFW on it and if so could someone point me to a difinitive thread. I have had a good look, honest, but with so many pandora threads is getting a bit confusing.

this would be your best bet

You can use the GUI w/ either a PSP or Memory Stick Pro Duo card reader, right? I've got a MMS Duo Pro card reader on the way, just need to get a 256mb Pro Duo card and the battery. I was thinking about getting the Tool Battery from Datel. I know, it is a rip off seeing as you still need the memory stick, and the fact that they don't give credit to Team C+D.

I was thinking about it, the Tool battery only brings the PSP to Service Mode, so you would still need the magic memory stick. But by using the GUI w/ the MMS Pro Duo card reader, all of the files should get installed properly, meaning one would have the Magic Memory Stick. And Shokz, I havnen't heard of a success story using this method, have you?
Hey sorry, i didn't actually notice your post until now :S

No, i haven't done it this way, i made my own through 3.40 OE-A. But essentially by what it is, it should work using the GUI and a card reader as it doesn't require you to run a program off the PSP.

Just thought you would all like to know. I just used the normal XMB boot loader for pandora. It works like a charm. You convert your battery to a pandora one then use one MS for the Magic one and one for normal boot loader. This way you do not have to try to convert your battery back. Just leave it as a service battery and depending what MS you insert it will boot normal or to pandora. Here is the link for normal boot loader http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1257

THX! your tutorial was great. Just to test that Pandoras really works I did a network update of my 3.40 official. made it a 3.71! ran Pandoras and bam! its now 1.5. ive tested all kinds of homebrew on it and it really is a 1.5!. it was for sale on ebay when it was 3.40 but it didnt get a high enough bid $36 just because umd didnt read. i watched a dead mobo, no battery,no charger go for $69. now that ive done this, its not for sale, i dont need a umd for my games.

Ah, no prob man :)

That's what I like about the Easy Installer already, is that you don't need a PSP lol. Hopefully this works, I'll be making a video of this if it does or doesn't work. I heard the battery ships from Datel like a week after ordering, so it may be a bit before I get my hands on it. Unless Play-Asia still has it :)

Why buy a tool battery? It's just a rip off. Just use yours and the XMB normal boot. then you just have to have two MS which still allows you to put files on it (iso,cso,mp3,videos, etc.) 1 will have magic files and the other will have xmb normal boot files. When you boot up depending which MS you have in the PSP will boot as normal or goto pandora's menu. No need to convert your battery back to normal and no need for a second battery. If you brick just place magic MS in drive and boot to pandora simple as that.

Check my last post for a link to the xmb normal boot files. This actually takes up no space on the MS, so you will have full use for other files.

And by the way the GUI works much better than the Easy Installer. No disrespect to touran22 he is a great help on these forums, but it just is.

You just missed the point there: HE CAN'T MAKE IT.

He doesn't have access to a homebrew PSP... so he has to do it this way. And yes, the GUI is the only way he can do it, as the "Easy Installer" still requires you to run the program from the PSP am i right?

i used pandoras battery to downgrade my friends psp to 1.5 then gave him 3.52M33 then we went and pressed L and R at that pandora menu. then we put the battery in the psp but the screen stays black even after we took out the memory stick. so he bought a new battery and he still gets a black screen, the only time the psp works is when he has the charger plugged in with no battery. plz help

Wait, I thought the Easy Installer was also known as GUI? These are two separate programs? If so, where can I D/L the GUI from?

And Shokz, I was able to order the Tool battery just now, and I chose Express delivery, so hopefully I'll get it by either Friday or Saturday (my two days off).

your going to have to buy the datel tool battery and use the pandora GUI if you dont have access to a homebrew psp.

Yes the GUI is different. Here is a link to it http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/about107553.html&p=1

There is another one out, but I have not used it yet. This one works great and is very noob friendly. Hope it makes things a little easier for you.

Try it with the official manual files, or use the GUI (link posted by ovrfiendx above)

Not sure, you can do it with the GUI, but i think the easy installer still requires you to make the files on your PSP.

@ ovrfiendx

So that's the GUI, looks pretty simple :) Looks like I just need to plug in my MS Pro Duo via card reader and select it through the Browser.

@ Shokz

I'll use the GUI for now, but I do want to create a Pandora's Battery sometime, it sounds like a fun process. Maybe my friend will want his PSP downgraded in the near future :)

i got a question and problem. my pandora's battery will not charge. i tried flashing it back to a normal battery, smae thing, i flashed to normal one that boots on and i tried flashing my other abtterys file to it...and nothing. is that becaus they are 1200 mAh and my panora is 1800mAh? i also tried using it on 3.52 M33-4 and then i tried to downgrade...however it told me my battery needs to be at least 50%...when i check in the XMB it is stuck at 0%... hmmmm.........any suggestions?

EDIT: okay i got it chargin...

Are you sure you're using Memory Stick Pro Duo? At least 256mb should do it. And, are you using Windows XP?
