@psp051 - You sometimes can't create a Pandora battery with a 3rd party (fake) battery as it just refuses the writing of the new code. You can't get around it, youll have to use your official battery, back up the eeprom so you can use it again normally afterwards (Though there is a little chance it doesn't accept the original code back).

PSP, all the way from 1.00 to 5.50 GEN D2 - DS Lite w/ M3DS Real (M3 Sakura v1.34)
PS3 3.01 - iPod Touch 2G 16GB Jailbroken - Xbox 360 60GB - PC, Q6600, 3GB DDR2, GTX260 (216) 896MB

Sorry, I just signed on a little while ago...
@psp051-like shokz said, some aftermarket batteries just plain wont work for making it into a jigkick-They dont have the internal circuitry like sony batteries do.
Your best bet is to get a spare sony battery and convert that into a jigkick and just keep it handy in case you need it later-Backing up and restoring the eeprom for the battery can cause problems later on as well-So its just better to have the spare, and that way its already made and if you run into problems later on down the road, at least you have the battery..You can create the files for the memory stick right from your computer, but you would need a psp running 1.50 or custom firmware to create the battery-and it wouldn't do you much good if you were bricked and did not have a homebrew friendly psp nearby.

i used pandora's battery on a bricked psp that i got for free from a friend, one of his buddies screwed it up somehow, and since sony couldnt fix it (because he had voided his warranty) he didnt want it anymore.
anyway, i was able to make the battery and the magic memstick and downgrade mine to 1.5. however, when i tried to turn my battery back into a normal battery by restoring the serial it gave an error code. i thought that it didnt matter what serial it had, so long as it was not the service one, so i figured i could just try writing it again later as i was anxious to get my psp working. well, it started up fine, but then it started to give me errors when i try to edit the system settings. the codes are
80082731
80108303
80020001
this only happens when i try to edit the system settings. it lets me play games, but i cannot do much else.

^^@arelian-I would try running the battery creator program from your psp again and then try to restore the battery using the generic serial provided in the menu...You must not have backed up your battery's eeprom? You may end up having to get a new battery, and then the one you have now you should convert it to a pandora battery and just leave it at that.. That problem of yours is common for converted batteries-I think thats why it said in the readme for the battery creator that its best to use a spare battery....

well, i did save it, it just didnt write correctly. i used the serial maker option to restore it and it does work as a normal battery now. i think it is a problem with the nand, as i have seen some other posts about that with the error codes that i got. i would like to try writing a flash dump of a 1.5 psp to mine and see if that fixes it, i know to not use idstorage when doing so.

Yeah, you could try that also, or maybe just a different battery..If you are using your own nand dump, its ok to include the idstorage when rewriting the flash..Its just if you are using a nand dump from a different psp, you dont want to include the idstorage...

^^Sounds like your memory stick files are not in order-the menu should pop up as soon as you insert the battery..Try running the battery creator program again...

Take it out, plug a charger in, turn the PSP on, let it boot, place the battery back in.

@kvsingh

I would try to remake the Magic MS. I think dEEz_nUtz was on the right track but then suggested to remake the battery. It sounds as if the battery is doing what it should but it can't find what it needs to execute the menu so it stops and the screen just stays black.

^^Thats what I meant...I was daydreaming when I wrote the reply. I meant run the memory stick program again, not the battery creator-It sounds like your battery is powering up your psp alright, just not finding the files on the memory stick to start the program..

Hey is this guide for making pandoras batter and magic MS for the old PSP? I want to make one to use for the PSP slim and I saw on eBay ppl selling different ones for phat and slim. They said that ones made for phat wont work on the slim....so can someone tell me what I g2 do?

I think the ebay seller was trying to use clever sales tactics to push his product. I wasnt aware of needing a special setup for the slim-If I am not mistaken, the slim's battery cannot be converted to a pandora battery anyway-nor can the creator program be run from the slim as its not on 1.50fw-yet you can insert the phat battery and give your slim double the battery time...And others have reported that its possible using a phat battery to get custom firmware going on their psp slim-So you might want to let that seller know whats good...But to answer your question-yes, you have come to the right place to make your pandora battery and magical memory stick..

Ok well the seller was selling the battery and magic MS and said that it's loaded with the files and everything to downgrade to 3.60m33 and that the other ones that dowgrade the phat psp to 1.50 don't work. I think he's right since you need different files since when you downgrade a phat psp to 1.50 you won't need the 3.60m33 files.

I just found this thread on this other site that tells you how to do it. So I'll just follow this. Thanks

Oh, I see....Yeah, aside from adding the extra files for the 3.60 fw-its essentially the same setup...In any event, be careful with your endeavors, the slim cannot be unbricked as of yet...
