You can not run the OS Pandora Tool Battery on an offical PSP. You need to Hardmod the Battery or buy a Datel Tool Battery. Read the guide more close.

Are you using vista?
Because setting everything up is mostly automated, i didnt see an error on one of the dos windows.
I ran everything again from a Vista machine and noticed that there was one extra thing i had to type Y to confirm.
No, I'm running XP.

@bluedim: I think you might be having the problem I was having, so give my modified start to setting up the memstick a try. It's near the bottom on page 7, can't miss it, as it's a pretty huge post. I think what's happening is your bootloader step isn't executing properly because the memstick isn't being formatted correctly to accept it. I had the same problems you did, but after going through my steps, it worked like a charm.

If I was reading your post correctly, you were trying to get the menu up to install the firmware right? I get the menu when I put the memory stick and the pandora battery in. The problem I'm having is after installing the firmware my PSP, it wont turn on. If I'm wrong let me know.

Ah, sorry, yeah, that's a different problem entirely. Mine installed perfectly fine after that, and everything went like a charm after doing that first boot off of the memory stick. It sounds like you could just reinstall the package again, after making sure you have all the files installed properly, of course. As others have said, there might have been a corrupted file. I can't see any other reason why 3.71 M33 wouldn't work, otherwise. However, to ensure your memory stick is perfectly set up, you could follow my steps, as it makes that process manual, and you'd know if anything errored out. After that, you'd just start over with the firmware installs.

You should be fine crazybrad
Just a few tips that are reiterated throughout this thread and others.
*Follow all the steps
*Use a genuine memory stick - SanDisk or Sony - magic gate supported - preferably 2 gig and under but no less then 128 mb (I think it is)
*Create the magic memory stick on a pc running XP
*If you are running a custom theme switch the theme back to the default/original one
edit - added theme tip

Hmmm I'm not the best one to answer questions on hard modding a battery. I'm not sure all slim batteries can be.
Hopefully others here can chime in on that one.
Myself I use a datel tool battery.
You're good on the memory stick you have btw.

No worries on the questions.
The tool battery can't be used as a 'regular' battery as far as I know.
So it is like a one time thing sorta. But it can come in handy if say you have friends who want thier psp modded or you brick yours and need to fix it.
And following this guide your chances of bricking your psp are slim :)

Hi im a real nooob to doing all this stuff. I have read all nine pages of this forum and could find nothing matching my particular problem. I have the psp slim, daetel too phat battery and 1 gig magic mem card. 1st problem i came across was in formating the mem stick. I got right to the last step until it says hit y to finish the process. (After it has finished writing the files you will get an image similar to below. Just type Y and ENTER to finish the instillation of files to the Magic memory Stick. ) I get to this part and the image doesnt even come up just fnishes i guess by itself and closes the command window. Is there something i did wrong?..i then tried continuing with the steps by inserting the battery and all i get is the green light if sum1 could help me or have ne suggestions it would be really appreciated

@maddstyle: Maybe my introduction wasn't specific enough, but on page 7, I explain how, if that exact problem occurs, you can do the memory stick setup manually, if you go and grab a couple of files (msinst.exe and mspformat.exe). It seems like it's a pretty rare thing for this to happen, but if you follow my modified steps for setting up your memory card, you should have no problems after that. I did the exact steps I described (and a bunch more wasted ones as I tried to figure out what was going wrong) and had no problems.

I bet you're using vista, thats exactly what happened to me.
I also tried the method using msinst.exe and mspformat.exe files as mentioned by delateur. This did not work for me on my vista machine.
The only way i could get it to work was on an xp machine.

Try re-downloading the download again. If your using the media fire links make sure your downloading both parts and are placing them in the same download directory. If you still have issues make sure you have the most resent WinRAR program installed.
nevermind i probally did something wrong thx for the guide!!!

Knock off the caps - it's like your shouting + against forum rules.
How are you getting stuck on connecting the psp by usb connection to the pc? Like laz305 pointed out - quite simple - pick usb connection - connect the usb from the psp to a usb port on the pc and click x :)

Not a problem :)
Check consoleshop.com or codejunkies.com for the datel tool battery.
Neither have the fastest service but do deliver.
@EMMAX
Then you might need a card reader to format the memory stick on the pc since psp can't connect to the pc thru usb.
