I'm on a PSP SLIM OFW 3.95
I had OFW 3.95 PSP slim and got it converted to 3.71 M33-4 custom. When you use Larryljie tutorial to get it coverted, it will automatically install 3.71 M33-2. Then you can use MUX 2.0 to upgrade to 3.90 M33-3. Some of the games do not run on 3.90 M33-3 but most of the games run on 3.71M33.

I have no space left on my 4GB and I want to buy 8GB or 16GB. Do I have to make them magic stick again to run all my games and programs that are in my 4GB?
Nope, just put ur new memory stick into your psp, - system settings - format - then hook it up on usb and copy ur files in the iso folder.

No... if u wanna run games on your new memory stick or videos etc - just format it with ur psp then it will make the folders for u

then u just copy your files into the right places.. like your games into iso etc.

Basically what I am asking is I want to put more games in the new memory stick. will my new games work with my customed PSP without magic files in the new memory stick?

So if I understand this correctly, once my PSP has been customed it does not matter what is in the memory stick right? It has been altered PSP itself not the memory stick so games on new memory stick works. is my understanding clear?

Has anybody installed all of the firmwares at least once on their PSP? If any of you have, which firmware allows you the run the most PSP games without problems? I have another question, when iso backups are created, are these games dependant on the firmware version in order for the psp backups to run?

@ larrylje,

I give you props but I just wanted to ask for a small petition on behalf of all the members including myself here at Afterdawn that have a dial-up internet connection. Files 1 & 2 are 85.83 MB each, the problem here is that downloading 85.83MB at 56K can take the average user about 5 to 6 hours. It would be awesome if you could make some time from you busy schedule, I know its something extra that you might not have the time to do but everyone would appreciate it. The total RAR size is 223MB, If you could make the files a bit smaller making them a decent size of 40MB each. The files will span across an installation package of 6 RAR parts. It will be more parts but It will help those who use a dial-up connection finally download this installation package. Downloading 40MB takes about 2 to 3 hours, just enough time to complete the download of just that one RAR part. The other parts can be downloaded just the same but at later time frames giving us flexible options as to not tying up the phone line during long periods as compared if I was to download parts 1 & 2 each at 85.83MB and that would require hours. If a torrent of these files existed, it wouldn?t be a problem because a torrent allows us to pause and resume the download. I?m hoping you could take this into consideration, something you could do for all us. I?ve been trying to get this software for days now but it seems hopeless, I want to proceed with the creation of the magic card and battery but have not been able to because the installation package of the RAR parts are way too large.

I am sure there is a very small percentage of users that are still on dial up. If that is the only option you have then you will have to do without. I am not going to spend my time making the files smaller then uploading all of them to some sort of service just for a few.

I do this for free and host the files on free sites so take what you can get. If you can't get the files using your option of Internet then ask a friend or family member to borrow there faster service to get the files quicker. Don't expect others to do your leg work.

I think it is rude and starting a petition in the guide itself just clutters up the guide for users that have a real issue to deal with. As well PMing me with your little petition will do nothing as well.

locobrown,

Try going to Starbuck or a Mcdonalds in your area. They usually offer free dsl internet to use. That will only help if you have a laptop.

P.S. Some DSL companys such as ATT offers these

AT&T DSL
Basic DSL $19.95
768 Kbps

Express DSL $25.00
1.5 Mbps

Pro DSL $30.00
3.0 Mbps

Elite DSL $35
6.0 Mbps

I understand. I deserved to get my head caved in, sorry. I was asking if you could, I wasn?t telling you to actually do it if you didn?t want to. I?ll see how I can get around this dial-up issue that I?m having. Thanks.

My battery will arrive soon, my PSP has a sight problem. The the power led doesn't glow anymore. I don't know what happened but when the light died many months ago I was glad because the light doesn't bother me anymore when playing. It doesn't glow when its on nor when its charging, no led activity at all.

When I attempt to use the Datel battery, will the power led activity be dependant as to what is happening to the PSP when attempting to flash as to what actions should take place? Luckly, the memory card and wifi led works fine.

I've searched around and read about what custom firmware members like best. I was wondering, what is a "NAND dump"? How is the 1.50 kernel installed, is it installed automatically when I run the 3.71 M33-4 update? I was thinking of updating to 3.90 M33-3 but I've read that many have been having issues with poploader and many claim that the recovery menu has less options than 3.71 M33.

Popsloader works perfectly fine in 3.90 M33-3 at least I have had no issues. As for the recovery menu I am pretty sure all features in recovery are the same between 3.71 M33 and 3.90 M33 versions.

larrylje, I'm still running OFW, I wanted to know If I can create the NAND backup before attempting to convert into CFW. I read around the forums but none speak about the tutorial you've created as to how I can do this using the universal unbriker V3. Others have said that a button combination exists, a menu loads allowing me to create such backup. Using the Datel battery, what button combination allows me to enter into the recovery menu so that I can create the NAND backup?

First thing's first. Great guide larry! You've made this very easy for those of us who are inexperienced.
Now, on to my question.

By this do you mean I should install 3.71 before installing 3.71 M33-2? I'm running 3.95 on PSP Slim.

no. when the menu pops up, it gives you options on what firmware you can install. you can go straight to m33 fimrware.

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

got a whole lot more to list . . .
