So I've been reading through all the posts, and I just have one question regarding Brawl. Is it correct that if you see the message "Disc Cannot Be Read" in green letters against the white screen, it's a problem with your laser? I have tried burning the game 3 different times both with and without the layer breaks, using the WZRD dump, and I keep getting the same error at the same place. My friend and I have the exact same mod chip and firmware version, but his game plays fine once he skips the intro movie. Am I pretty much screwed or what? Is there anything else I can try? Thanks for the help!

Wiikey 1.9 (Plays SMG fine)
Firmware 3.2 (Updated from internet)
Verbatim D/L

I doubt it's your laser. Some Wii's are more picky than others when it comes to medias used, like mine. Definitely try Memorex. I burned 2 copies using Verbatim. First burn never get pass the white screen with read error, second burn the game will start if I skip the intro (like your friend). The second burn will start only after I changed the Wii read speed to 3x using Wiikey config 1.3 - YMMV on this.

Then I bought the Memorex media. Working flawlessly with my wiikey set to either 3x or 6x read speed.

Why should anyone post their results of the wiizard download?

Evidently you haven't read the 100 other past confirmed working wiizard download post. So why would we believe you would read future ones.
Read better because I do...Let me clear it up for the ones who don't understand what I meant: I have been reading about successful wiizard downloads but not too many emcubed ones? Who has downloaded and successfully played SSBB from the emcubed .iso?
That's for you larry ;)
im 94 percent done with the download .. sadly its going super slow because douche bags only download it then not seed to a Perfect ratio, due to douchbagery!!! but yeah once im done with it say ohh next freaking week ill let ya know :D

Why!!? i burn my SSBB onto a verbatim 8x DVD+R DL with layer break at 2084960. the disc is readable, but when it start loading, it stuck at black screen.. T.T anyway, with regionfrii patched to jap(since i am using jap wii) and have brick blocked it with WBB. firmware wiikey 1.9g, 3.2J(update through wifi)

Anyone encounter same problem?

i am not trying to burn another one without layer break. hopefully it works.

money wasted T.T

I'm seeing lots of people having trouble with verbatum DL's and SSBB. Lots saying memorex work though.

Ive gone through a handful of memorex dl dvds. They worked flawlessly for the Jap version but, for some reason they are becoming a pain in my booty now. Leads me to believe that there is more to it than just bad media.

Multirar the file and put it on 2 single layer DVDs.

This is for anyone getting the 001 Error with Brawl. It involves using the Trucha Signer. I have not yet played with the program, so don't ask me where to get it or how to use it, you can figure that out by searching. Once you do know how to use it, do this...

Quote:
Thought i would post this info here as well :

I have just downloaded this game and i have started working on it already lol.

To remove the 001 Drive Check Error in SSBB US extract the main.dol file from partition 2 and edit the following value in a hex editor :

0X1F2293 Change 0C to 04
Hope that helps some people.

I put the real SSBB in and it load and everything but it freeze on loading screen or black/white forever. once it pass the movie part and i press start its turn black again... i see this happening to a lot of people and i would really like to play ssbb so any help on fixing this would be great. THANK YOU.

Dude, alot of us having this problem, just get the wizard back up, burn it with imgburn no layer break at 2.4x if you in uS and play it. that wii key corrupt thing sucks and takes too much time. just burn a back up of your game.

If you're unable to search for the bits you want, you'll start to get the idea of how much time it takes regulars and how much more take it takes moderators to read thru people's lazy (and most times incoherent) pap. Lazy posts and refusal to read previous posts are the reasons threads such as this get so long and bloated. Too many people can't cope and post for help because they just can't be bothered to read a few pages of FREE HELP. Jeez..

My advice is simple, read the first page of the thread, if you don't find the answer, keep reading. At worst you'd have to read thru the entire thread but remember it's still only 1 thread. I am subscribed to 26,000+ threads in many different forums/different subjects, and that figure goes up stupidly each day. So... reading thru 1 long and repetitive thread is easy in comparison... :)

just read through 20 pages, saw a few people ask about it but really no answer.

I get the Error #001, the illegal device detected.

Burned the wizard download, got 1.9g wiikey (can play mario galaxy), 3.2U internet update.

I used ridata at 2.4x. Will using another brand like memorex work. game shows up but the error comes up when I click start.

Any suggestions? Should I redo the 1.9g? or will media make the difference.

Thanks
