Ok guys, I'm new here and I specially registered to join this thread.

I have a Benq set a 8x and I also have the texture problem very very badly.

I have news for you:

It has nothing to with the Dvdr media used for buring, the burning program or what so ever. I tested the same 2.4 verbatim (whic gives me the texture problem) in a Xbox 360 with Samsung drive and it works like a charm.

So there's no discussion about burners/media what so ever.

I tested my Benq xbox with a harddrive instead of a MU. Nothing changes.

So there's no discussion about using a MU instead of a harddrive.

Now i'm gonna flash my Benq to 12x and see what happens. I'm not sure this is gonna help, since someone in this thread said he has the same problem with Benq at 12x. Anyway, i'm gonna flash it.

If that doesn't work...MS/Rockstar have a huge problem. The ICON release is an exact copy of the Multi- retail pal versoin. The original will give the same problems - i'm quite sure of that.

Luckily I'm gonna buy it for my PS3 since the Xbox is inferior anyway if you look at the huge framedrops I experienced even on the Samsung.

I'll post my results after 6 o clock.

But ya ill leave it as that as to not start a fanboy war. PS3 better than a 360 lol get one good game on ur system just one then come back and say something

can you tell me the software you used for burning and the version of gta (ntsc/pal) ?

And for the love of jesus, lets not derail this thread into another flame war which console is better, seriously.

I have the same problem, i tried on different media like verbatim and many other ones, burned at 2.4x speed with ImgBurn. First my xbox was flashed with 8x speed and i read somewhere to flash it with 12x reading speed then the problem will be solved, so i flashed it with 12x speed, but still, i've the same problem. I have a BenQ drive flashed with iXtreme 1.41 (now 12X speed).

Any solutions??

Okokok their evenly good; whatever makes you happy man. Grow up. Can you bring something useful to this topic like telling what kind of buring suite you used and type of burner?

Problem still exists after flashing it to 12x.

I used clonecd and the Icon rip at 2.4 speed, NEC burner on verbatim 2.4 speed DvDr's.

Either MS will have a huge problem with the release, or this Icon rip is just bad.

ok i got a Samsung and runnin on the oldschool xtreme 5.2 (i know i know too lazy to reflash)... but i got the RROD about a week ago - happened once and has been running fine since ... i hear its jus a matter of time before its done so i got a couple dollars aside for a new system ...

so the question relevant to this thread:

Since many ppl are havin problems with GTA4 on the benQ - should i try to stray away from those when i buy a new 360? is it only gTA4 with the framerate issues?

if you wanna bash the box this is not the place to do it as we are all loyal to the box. maybe you should be in the ps3 forum.

Loyal to the box. Listen to yourself. Are you an grown up? Because an adult wouldn't give a flyin F**K which console is better. I own both an Xbox and PS3 and in my experience the PS3 is more advanced en newer and what someone else thinks doesn't bother or interests me.

So stop whining about that one sentence in my previous post and stay ontopic.

Someone said the problems were solved using other burning media. Could you confirm that and tell us what media you used?

I read somewhere that poeple with the BenQ drive do not have this problem, their reading speed is 4x!!, Please can someone confirm this, or test it by reflashing it with 4x speed, i woould do it by myself, but i don't have the correct mainbord. The BenQ dribe is the fastest drive, maybe the problem is because it reads to fast.

Thnx in advance

well, unfortunately this is a common problem for the benq drive users.

The only hope is that the retail version won't have this type of problem.

GTA IV has some very poor graphics, escpesially on a hd tv, and it is almost unplayable with those texture and popup problems. Vey annoying and it is not fun to play. If you have a 360 with BenQ drive, then you have more problems with the textures.
Maybe the ICON group did not rip it 100% correct or something, anyways, if this is the GTA IV and if this is the hype they talking about, i have no words for...
Very dissapointing.

Btw, maybe i am wrong, if there are poeple playing this game without any problems, please report here how you burned it and wich media you use. Also, report wich 360 drive you have and how you 've flashed, with (i)Xtreme or GarryOpa or something else. And lastly, what your 360's drive reading speed is. That would be very helpfull.

Thanks in advance,

kurt_40
