Btw, maybe i am wrong, if there are poeple playing this game without any problems, please report here how you burned it and wich media you use. Also, report wich 360 drive you have and how you 've flashed, with (i)Xtreme or GarryOpa or something else. And lastly, what your 360's drive reading speed is. That would be very helpfull.

Try your original disc, if you still have the problems, then there may be a problem with your 360. Then try to re-rip the original at a different speed and burn with different media.

I have the same problem with my Benq drive. Burned both NTSC and PAL Releases on Verbatim DVD's. Not working properly :( Then I went to the store and bought the original GTA4.(Can't wait any longer) Guess what?? Problem solved!! Nomore pop-ups or any other problems mentioned here.

I think I'm going to do the same and just buy this one. It's worth every penny from what I've played so far, and it'd be nice to have it without the damn annoying popups. I've lost track of the amount of times I've crashed into an invisible wall that then rematerialises 5 seconds later :D

I think i'm going to reconsider downloading this after hearing all of the problems, especially considering I have a BenQ.
I think I'll just buy it.

Yes, I have a HDD.
The problem is solved when I put in the original I've purchased.
Can't wait any longer and keep messing with it. The game is worth the money tho. :)

Hey I think I might be having the issue too with slow texture loading.
My 360 was manufactured in June 06 with a Hitachi 59DJ drive flashed to 8x with iXtreme 1.4 FW. My GTAIV is NTSC burned to a 2.4X Singapore Verb at its 2.4X rated speed in Imgburn.
I haven't played too much since the hard drive I recently ordered has not arrived, but it seems like the only texture issue I'm having is with shrubs and small arbitrary objects loading. It hasn't affected the gameplay to where I "lag" but if I've been driving fast and stop I can see textures trying to play catch up. Once during a car chase I pulled a tight turn near the edge of a building and slammed into an invisible wall which urned out to be a small shrubbery next to said building.
I realize no one really knows whats going on ye but I just wanted to throw my system's specs out there for the sake of statistics.

I ripped my purchased NTSC copy (not a rental, evident by the certificate of authenticity still on the case) using an ms 28 drive flashed with 0800 firmware. I used Xbox Backup Creator 2.8. I set the read speed to 8x.
I burnt to a Verb (purple wrap) using Clone CD at 4x on a Pioneer 111d. The game plays perfect on my Elite w/Benq iX 1.41 8x and my Premium w/ms28 iX 1.4 8x
I always rip my games at a slower speed and burn faster.

Hi GUYS,
My question is... I downloaded.. and played GTA IV prior to the release date offline. I am just wondering if I were to sign on to Xbox Live with the genuine GTA IV would I be banned because of my saved profile data?

Well, I can confirm that the legit copy of the game works fine (not texture pop in, or at least very little), whereas the other copy has hideous texture issues. I guess that answers the question for the most part. Perhaps it's a less than optimal rip.
