I successfully jtagged it and now the box powers up, the time displaying 12:00 and updating. When i switch it on however it says channel 0001 but there is no display on screen (everything is connected correctly).
So i figured i need to update the firmware. I have followed the steps at the start of this thread (using the null modem bought from maplin) the receiver is detected and it starts sending the firmware down, however it randomly gets stuck (i have been waiting over an hour but it never finishes) sometimes it gets to 64% sometimes 22%. The highest i have seen it get to is 77% but then it just stops and gets no further. I have gone through nearly every forum but i cant seem to find anyone with this problem.
I tried to flash brand new eurovox 5100 using USB to 9-pin lead.
After 2 unsucessful attempts I put away modern laptop + usb lead.
I plugged in an old windows 00 L/top +only 9-pin null modem lead.
Worked first time no problem + had similiar problem 3 months ago. Same solution; first time no problem.
This also works on D/top with 9-pin com-port. Give it a go.

Mickah,
I have the greatest respect for yourself,HiTeck,Fergus + others

hesitate to apologise to yourself or other members If comments I have
made were out of order.I know some of my remarks cut too close to the
bone, but there are times when some people have it coming.
I posted on D.K. many times this morning, giving it socks, there was no real problem. Then I slated SVU4 boxes, rubbished them. Suddenly I gotA yellow card. When I asked to show posts which offended they had been deleted. Was complainant a SVU4 trader, maybe not

Well EAMO_TOO it was me who has the problem with you not using the quote function properly and the post padding. Putting your comment in the quote makes it hard to figure out what is what. Edit your previous post instead of doing back to back posts.

Thanks for tip, but I'm going to be honest with you, I can't see edit key. I know it has to be there. On other forum's at bottom of each post
are options; Quote, thanks, Edit..This is not a criticism merely an
observation. Would you be kind enough to post or P.M.,"DUMMIES GUIDE".
If you feel this is unnecessary, just tell me I'm THICK or too lazy to
open my eyes. I can be fairly critical myself,so I don't mind a few
harsh words coming my way. If you live by the sword you must be prepared to die by the sword. Thanks for listening
Me again Binkie, told you I was THICK, just saw an icon, clicked on it
+ guess what It said "EDIT"
H ave to run, phones ringing, It could be MENSA

Hi,
I have created myself a new cdf for Warrington (nthell) using the marvelous voxer program. If people are interested I could pass it on to the people who run the eamos library (not sure who that is?) to be uploaded.
Let me know.

Like I said mate, I have no prob with ya at all, but some may not see your reply as an answer or the humor in it, but more as a condesending answer wrapped up in some useful advice, depends on the person who reads it and what way they percieve it, cant really comment on DK as I dont go there, not even a member, some peeps dont like the way I answer em also or if I let them know there is a post covering it already, some are cool, some get snotty, but I answer straight and to the point, no qtr asked or given, but ya can't please everyone, but this is the internet, sometimes what you write on the screen, doesnt mean it will be read that way on the screen.
Oh and you are right, bloody SV4, broke more hearts than Patrick Swayze did in Dirty Dancing,
Not that I ever watched that, em, em kind of thing......

did ya check it was clone firstly?
factory reset the box, re-scan on
Start power-scan at 290Mhz to 600Mhz you will pick up
12 T.P.'s.You then have to manually add T.P.150Mhz + manual scan.
remove any splitters you may have or go the laurels for a pint ; - )

Its not a clone im sure of that. It was working which is strage. I did a factory reset and a deep scan last night on 6.887
After the factory reset i got just the one set of channels with none of the movies working "scrambled channel" .Then i tried a deep scan 260 - 460 channels came in twice and still "scrambled channel" on the movies.
I'll try what you have said tonight...after a few pints in the laurels :) cheers mate

Make sure emulation is turned on, press menu, OK on language settings, enter 1968 then a new column will appear called emulation, make sure its set to enable then save and exit back to tv.

So lads (and ladies) - I read a few posts back...
Was it the Starview 4 USB that got the slating???
That's twice in 2 days.
First I was off to buy 7 Eurovox 7000 HD boxes for relatives & friends for use in NT* in Dublin when Mickah told me that NT* are already transmitting their HD channels in N3... (thanks again Mickah btw).
Now I was ready to get 7 SV 4 USB's and it's taking a pasting on here!!!
Before I take up books full time can anyone recommend the best box to use working on NT* in Dublin with USB and PVR functionality?
I'd be much obliged :-)
