All the firmware thats released will be announced, and then posted in here you will then find it in the starview 1 folder in eamos

sorry gents if this is a repeat question just struggling at the moment. I've had various problems over the past few days which many of have had. Was glad to hear the latest firmware was available but still having probs.
I have a 'Starview 2 - The Box' receiver. Is the latest firmware only to be used on the 'Starview 3 - The Box Super' ? I tried downloading this firmware to me dbox last night but without success. I keep getting 0% download then failed. I've tried the obvious steps, bought a new null cable, tried different com ports, tried a channel dump as well still no joy. I've also tried on a different pc, still no joy. My fear is that the null cable connection at the dbox may be a bad connection.
When I returned to the dbox this morning tried to operate the remote control but no joy. The control has now stopped working. I've tried different bats, tried the camera trick to see if any signal is coming out of the control, appears to be no signal coming out.
To summarise:-

> Could somebody please confirm if the latest firmware 'The Box Super UK Fix 301108'can be used on the starview 2.
> Could somebody also confirm / any ideas why my remote has suddenly died ?

Appreciate all the help and supports over the past few months since been a member.

steve86,
I have been keeping up to date with the posts and the firmware released is only for Starview 3(the box super)and not starview 1 and 2.

Hi everyone

Sorry for the off topic subject here...hope you don't mind.

I have a box super and eurovox and when i connect them both up I can hear a very low alarm sort of sound coming out of my box. I can only hear it when i mute the TV. when i switch it off or remove the VM cable, no more alarm noise.

Has anyone else experienced this?

chamid,
look at my postings in september on page 2 of this link and follow all my postings after that as I think you may be coming up with the same problem. This will also help you to eliminate all sorts of other things as desb, karlid and cactikid offered possible solutions. I found out that somewhere along the line either windows or pcguard must have deleted something from my computer because when I went to my nieces laptop the boxes worked fine and let me download the firmware. There was 1 issue with hers in that I had to go into hardware properties on her laptop and change her com port from 9 to 1 and this worked.

bluetate that happened with my nieces and it was caused by her laptop set on com port 9 instead of com port 1. she changed to 1 and it worked right away.

no it would have nothing to do with any of them, check you cable is secure in your pc and box, also turn thr box off press download turn it back on and see if it moves.
