Hello
I have a new problem this morning which hasn't seem to have been discussed yet or I'm blind and can't find it.
I have a SV3, running the latest patch from Eamo's library (8.02). Everything has been fine until this morning. I am now recieving no signal at all, can't even get the freeview channels. I originally thought there was maybe a lead loose or something, but double checked everything and my friend down the road is having same problem. I'm in Liverpool area, and I'm wondering if it is just a local maintenace issue (internet is perfect though) or something to do with the box itself.
Anyone know anything I don't?

hi all
i am having trouble figuring what box my mate has, i have a 25x7 super and its working perfect, but he has a 20x7 which i cant find anywhere, does any one have a idea what i can do to update this

Hi kestronb2, the box you have is an original, your mates box is a clone an original super box has 25x7 vents and the 20x7 is a clone.
Therefore as far as i know there is no fix for this clone box.

thanks for the help. you people are great sharing you hard earn,t information. any idea when a fix for starview 1 will be available ?.and is there any tempory fix for now as 5 channels is so so boring

Well first thing I'd personally try you've guessed yourself.....the cable in the box may not be A: a genuine null modem cable or, if it is, B: working correctly. It's like £2 on eBay including postage for a serial null modem cable. I'd pay that just to rule the cable thing out so I could look elsewhere for the answer.
i have tried the null modem from maplin ( 9 pin female, code:L71bt) the cable which is supposed to be the correct one, but still it is showing flash update fail. its definately NOT the case of loose wires or correct com port because i have checked these over a million times. i dont know whats wrong because i updated it last time no problems. please someone help me

It may be nothing but ive just noticed that the update for "the box super" is 8.02 & the new update for "the box" is also 8.02 ??? Think sum 1 is playin silly beggers mmm ?? can any 1 confirm this is why the box is locking up ?? thanx....

Curious that...I thought 18x7 vents were cloned SV3's not 20x7....could be wrong though as I don't deal with them myself, it's just what I thought I read somewhere. Wasn't there an 'original original' first batch of genuine SV3's that differed slightly too? I remember some people thinking they had clones when they had the first batch of SV3 that looked slightly different.
Also, to those saying there's no fix for SV2's yet...well there IS. It is dated today's date (03/12/08). I don't know what time today it first appeared, and/or when you folks posted, but there is now a fix for SV2 The Box. It comes as a pack as you have to update to certain firmware before applying the fix (if you don't have said firmware on it already). View the Read Me that comes with it first. All fixes to date are here:
