Ya, happens now and then, as I say, I just changed channel and it starts updating then. It's normally faster on one of the sly sport channels.

Okay first you need this file >>>>

http://www.4shared.com/file/73849126/d49...rified=21830a3b

And you need Winrar to unsip it it if you have not got it installed on your PC >>>>>>>>>

http://www.4shared.com/file/28733441/7c4...rified=fa0dfbb0

And then go to the 2nd link Marked Starview at the bottom of my post for a tutorial and follow that, also if you want to look at a pictorial one then have a look here >>>>>>

http://www.freewebs.com/boxsuper/

And now take your time and good luck.

Hi Malci,

Will the file you mentioned on your previous message bring back the channels. Based in Dublin, using Starview Box Super USB. Lost all the channels.

Thanks

Scouser, Malci, Des etc... please can you tell me if this is OK:

Whenever I've flashed my own box with new firmware, including the latest fix (8.02e), when I plug the box back in afterwards and connect to the TV, I'm presented with the installation screen and I have to rescan and all the rest of it. But today when I flashed my Uncle's box and my nephew's box, both genuine SV3s bought from the same batch as mine, the flash was seemingly successful for both... and system info showed API ver. 8.02e_E 30/11/2008 on both boxes, yet all the channels were already scanned in as normal on both boxes after the flash. So I set the default key option to see if the auto-update worked, and yes...they both updated theirselves in seconds.

Mine always gives the fresh installation screen after a flash...weird. Will they be OK? I'm worried as it is unusual behaviour from what I know, and I feel responsible for them if anything goes wrong. Thanks, lads.

No that is nothing to worry about, 90% or so of times, the flashing does tend to clear your channel data, but sometimes it doesn't. This sometimes happens with the Eurovox's, it is not a fault and is nothing to worry about okay, and yes they will be okay.

help!!
I have flashed 4 friends SV3 no problem, using download from library now keep getting flash fail on last 2 boxes I have tried.
Using old laptop with correct fitting for 232 so no need for USB connector.
Have tried all the tricks switching on/off etc.
I am based in Dundee Scotland using VM.
managed to update my old SV1 using same setup which makes it even more difficult to explain.
cheers for your great work!!

That's a relief. Weird that....I've flashed about eight SV3's this year, all from the same batch of stock that family and friends bought from the same supplier, but only with these two was the channel data still intact post flash. I always thought these flashes completely replaced the software on a box....but now I guess they must just update/patch it, as that could surely be the only explanation for the channel data to stay intact. Glad to know it is normal, though, thanks.

The way you are going on, you are going to be looking for a lot more leads, either that or you have a lot of leads :) only joking, glad your mind is at rest, as said it does happen, and it is not a sign of a problem. lol.

Hi guy's, just wanted to know if there was a solution to the 'flash update failed' ?

I've flashed roughly 15 boxes for my mates over the past few days, and all of a sudden today when I wetn to flash The Box today I got 'flash update failed'.
I'm using right cables and all and after sifting through this thread I tried disabling the anitvirus but still no joy I even did a system restore but still the same.

Just wondering if there was a solution to this.

Thanks

You need to find the best channel to update it for you, it does need a kickstart, try Sky 2, and leave a little while and if it does not kick in, then flick to another channel, even the God channel, turn off your box and back on, press Set Default Key, and it can go to 160% then start again, but it will eventually kick in.
