Found the IOS37-64-v2070.wad. Ran eveything from homebrew channel. The CustomIOS Rev03 ran fine, but the Downgrader keeps getting stuck at "Downloading and installing content #66". Did I screw something up?
Any help would be great.
your wii has to be connect to the internet maybe thats the problem...

I tried again to downgrade to 3.1E and yet I receive the following message:
[+] Installing IOS, please wait...
>> Downloading and istalling content #03... ERROR! (ret = -1)
What might be the cause?

Hi All,
Thank you for the nice s/w. I have been a brave one, and tried it out. I am afraid to report that it does not work, details as follow:
Like every one else, being silly. In my case, due to other reason (took out the SD card to use for something else, therefore can not load any games). Anyway, I thought it is the firmware and other, therefore clear the Wii system memory, and update to the latest firmware to 3.3j. Now I learnt my mistake and suffer since.
I have Wiikey 1.9s and config 1.4 install.
As said, firmware now in 3.3j.
I tried USB BECKO, with latest geckoOS16d & geckoOS16dcf, both don't work under any combination setting.
I read onto this forum, about the downgrading s/w. By following instructions, I downgrade to 3.2J successfully, it said on the s/w, and also via the Wii setup menu. but when you try to run any backup games, it would load up at all. Again, I try with 3.1J, the same thing happened. Yet again I downgrade all the way to 2.0J, it still would load up any saved games.
The only copy games that work at present is the "The_Legend_of_Zelda_Twilight_Princess_(WII)", which I used to create the Homebrew Channel initially, and my original WiiFit(jap), which once loaded, will update the firmware back to 3.1J, where my Wii is on now.
My conclusion is that once you have update to 3.3J, even using the downgrade program, and successfull downgraded. There is something left within the machine to stop it load any copy saved games.
Please feel free to comment and share your info. May be I following the wrong steps etc.
Anyone succeed? or it is just me?
Thank you for reading...
Kind regards
Giggle

Thanks for speedy reply.
Very interesting indeed.
That's kind of strange! I assume your saved games can't load while on 3.3e.
Is there anyone downgrade on 3.3J (Japanese machine) successful?

I got a (ret = -116) error while doing this... The rev installer ran just fine.
Any idea what's going on?

I just tried the homebrew browser as well and that couldn't connect.
Anything requiring internet access isn't working for me and I can still apparently connect to the internet with the wii just fine since the connection tests and wii shop work..
I wonder if I should consider a wired connection..

You could try it but if the shop channel works then so should the homebrew. I would try turning off all internet connections and settings, then reaquire the link again via searching etc and see if that helps.

Out of the blue, can this method be used to solve semi-bricked wii's running at 3.3?

In theory I don't see why not, you are installing a new firmware which should fix the semi brick. But I don't know if anyone has tried it or confirmed either way that it works or not.
Though I did find this at Fixya.com
Quote: Yes it's a semi-brick,
I had the same problem "marc:EU/EU/ENG/index01.html" but I fixed it with the new Wii downgrader (Google it!!!).
I used this to downgrade to firmware V2.0 English and
hey- presto problem solved.
I then upgraded to a recent firmware using a game disk

I was reading yesterday that if you have upgraded to 3.3e and do not already have homebrew on, you cant install it..
how do i go about downgrading now???
can downgrading be done without homebrew?
TIA

You can either run the REV3 installer and downgrader via the TP hack or install the homebrew channel via the TP hack. Just make sure you use the new 3.3 compatible version.

only yesterday did i spend hours looking for information re 3.3 and general consensus was that once on 3.3 you cannot load homebrew?
are you telling me that you can? if so which files are they and do i need a copy of tp to load them.#
