thank u larrylje and thank u ghoce it finally work for me.but u have add ios downgrader from the begininng because i had an error when i start with run anyregionchanger 1.1 m5..so did first ios downgrader and then follow the rest of the guide from there on and it work..just to let u know and maybe to add it in the guide..

I assume those that follow this guide have used the NEW AND IMPORVED guide to softmod first. In that case IOS Downgrader should have been already ran.

one more thing larry..dose wii sport resort work from disc channel or i have to go to neo gamma to work..when i made burn copy using at 3x speed and dvd-r verb disc.when i load in the disc channel it load to the wrasit screen and then it gave a read disc error..what should i do from here...

First off much appreciation to Larry for this great tutorial. I do have a question though? I have follow the instructions and have down loaded everything and it all seems to have worked properly. I have burn a game from the net. (Can't remember the site) I've burned it using PowerIso and put the game in the newly moded Wii...and...Nothing happens. I've tried the disc channel and the Neo Gamma backloader and it will not read the disc. I might be writing in the wrong section but with all the great advice on this thread, I thought i would try and ask. Any advice or pointing in the right direction would be appreciated

help me plz asap i think i broke my wii following these in structions. it turns on but nothing happens doesnt load up or any thing. got to step five then it couldnt find the hack file n couldnt get bac so reseted the console. how do i fix it?????????

This isn't a place to discuss piracy. It is for backups. I am assuming this is a backup of a game you already have, but why you didn't use the backup tools for the wii, I'm not sure. But anyways, my suggestions:
1) make sure you are using dvd-r
2) use a different burning program (I u se imgburn at 1x and never had issues)
3) make the backup yourself instead of "downloading" it... could be a bad download.
4) may be an incompatible game. I haven't heard of incompatible games, but never know.

I am on step 4 going to run the downgrade.
But when i try to press "a" button, it always reboot's.
It can't continue from that stept, cuz when i try to find the hacks from the systemmenu thingy it says:
"hacks for your systemmenu version(v290) were found No".
What to do now?
Plz reply.

v290 is 3.2 firmware. If you follow the guide properly you should be on 4.1E firmware by step 5. The hacks.ini file included in the download is for 4.1 firmware which for PAL is v450. So start the guide over and follow every step.

Okay, i got all the steps done now, and did'nt miss anything.
But when i put in my backup game, it still says that " The Game Disc could not be read. Please read the manual for more info"

Sounds like you missed (or had a failed install of) cIOS38 rev 14... but I could be wrong...

What media do you use to burn to?
What program do you use to burn?
Verbatim or Tayio Yuden DVD-R are most recommended media. Use IMGBurn (which is a free application) and burn at half the rated burn speed of the media.
Did you install cIOSCorp?

Every install was either "OK!" or "success", and i double cheked so i did'nt miss any steps.
I used ImgBurn, and a empty dvd-r disc.
Burned at 2x speed.
Disc was JWS.

I am having problem using bootmii after following this thread. I wanted to backup the nand in case something go bad but I could not get to the menu. I turned off the wii and hit the reset button after power on again and the only i see on the menu is the pre loader .29. How do I get back to bootmill and back up my nand now ?

Maybe im wrong, but in the Pre-loader menu there is a choice like Homebrew Channel, press it.
Then when you are in Homebrew, press "home" then load Bootmii.

This works if you installed bootmii as an IOS. If you installed it as a boot2, then you just need to have the approprite files on your SD card when you start up your wii.
side note: if you installed bootmii as an IOS you cannot use bootmii to restore a NAND backup.

first step: rtfm
second step: don't blame anyone but yourself. It says at the beginning that you are doing this at your own risk.
third step: check your wii serial number... if it is LU64/LU65 then read the very first line of the guide.
forth step: assuming it is not LU64/LU65 reinstall preloader 0.29 (as the instructions say)
fifth step: if previous step doesn't work, load up bootmii from the boot2 and do a NAND restore... and things will be back to how they were before you started hacking the IOS's.

bootmii has nothing to do with dvd's. So I am assuming this is unrelated to your previous problem. Therefore, from my exp, the brand of disk doesn't make a large difference (it always will make some, but I have tried several and had no problems). The big thing is if you are using DVD+R or DVD-R. You want DVD-R. (that's 2 since I started counting). I have used memorex, JVC, and sony (sony were the worst... spindle of 100 had 20 disks that were glued poorly and thus faulty disks and sony won't even reply to my e-mails...).

thanks for reply my serial is leh13 done softmod come to do this mod as wanted back up disc to run did as said then exit then got files corrupted on black screen ,power of on get files corrupt but found if i press reset right after turn on can get into homebrew channel and get to wad manager and preloader any advise where to go from here sorry for being harsh as done a lot of reading on this and check everything then this happens at the end of my hacking journey

Did you even follow all of it?
Evidently not if you don't know what to do after pressing reset to boot the Preloader menu.
Read the guide. I hope no one else helps you either and forces you to read the guide and follow it. Then maybe after reading it, you will see who the stupid one is.
