You can still get good flash chip properties in Jungle Flasher. How are you power cycling the drive?

Bought a 360 arcade from dell. its the new lite-on. opened it up, jungleflasher saw the drive, but kept failing the key check. suddenly started getting 3 red rings and flashing green light. then i smelled a burning type smell. Thinking of just boxing it back up and sending back to dell. any thoughts? i read that the flashing green light can mean a bad flash or tray open error. thing is, jungleflasher couldnt read the key, so i must not have been turning on/off half tray open thing correctly. Should i just order the ck3 connectivity kit? every time i powered off the drive with the tray open, and pushed it half closed, when i powered it back on, the tray would automatically close. i assume this is why the key check failed. Anyway, think this box can still be salvaged?

I believe you could just use the same process. I'll look into it.

It hasn't ever happened to me. Dealing with 74850C and 83850C Lite-ONs, I have never had a bad key when extracting/decrypting. I am not sure of the probability of it happening. But you should always take precaution and spoof to another drive first.

You can spoof the info to a BenQ.

I really need help with this. I tried following the guide, I have a maximus usb xtractor and a xtractor unit that powers the drive. Just getting nowhere. Been following the guide, when I do the tray half open, then ok it, it asks for the tray to be full, so i open the tray. Then i get an error message when I ok it.
I been connecting the usb xtractor on the R707 hole at this point from the halfway drive to full drive. What am I doing wrong?

is your firmware 8385oc or the 7000 firmware if its 8385oc you dont need the probe
i had problems doing the 8385oc drive as my onboard sata ports nforce chipset were not compatible with jungle flasher you will need a via card
then power up the drive half tray open then click ok
when it asks you to open the tray full press the eject button to close the tray then eject to open the tray then click ok
it will ask for the tray to be put in the half open tray click ok i think you will need to power off half close draw then power up
then hit eject to close the tray then eject to open the tray and click ok it should know save you dummy and inquiery if it fails on the full open tray and you are using onboard sata then you will need the via card

This is the tutorial for the 83850C Lite-ON. You don't use a key reader on this drive! Can you confirm what firmware revision you have?

I was at the same stage as you on your earlier posts. Does the Via chipset work for you? Have I screwed up my drive using the probe? I can still play originals with the drive.

Sorry, forgot to mention that it is the 83850c firmware the drive has. I have a Nvidea motherboard, so I need the sata card. I have one but unsure if it works. My PCs HDD boots off sata on the motherboard. Should I install it on another HDD thats non sata and do it that way, switching off the Nvidea satas and try my card that way.

Ok, glad to hear my drive is still good to flash. How do you do the drive open halfway, is it best to do it from power up of the pc. My pc wont detect it otherwise, is that the right way?

Sorry for asking so many questions, just wondering if it is easier to flash while the drive is still powered to the 360?

You will need to use the XBOX 360 to power the drive. Press the eject button and eject the tray. Disconnect the DVD drive's power cable and push the tray halfway in. That is what you need to do in the LO83 process.

Wouldn't disconnecting the power cause the sata port to reset. Everytime I turn off the drive it wont detect in jungle flasher.

No, that is the process. If you are having issues getting your drive detected, it could a driver issue or your SATA chipset is incompatible.
