That is the main page or application page.

Maybe if you did a little more research on the Wii before attempting the guide you would know a little more.

I added home button to the guide to make it as simple as can be for users like you. Even though I don't think users should be following this guide if they don't even know the basic functions of the Wiimote itself.

True but for being new at it I didn't assume you were talking about a Home button.
Anyway, can I use the wireless Gmaecube controller? as the Power/Reset buttons just turn it off or reset.

Hey Larry, your 4.1 guide says 4.2 questions go here so I was just wondering if you had tried the 4.2 safe update or knew anything about its compatibility with your 4.1 mod? If you haven't and don't plan to try, just let me know. Thanks.

Kind of hard to help with a vague message like that. We have no idea what your doing or what the # say. If you follow the guide properly then it should work. If you have errors then try redownloading the WAD files again using NUS. if you still have issues try using a different SD card.
This is what i get when i start Trucha :

a picture is worth a thousand words. Maybe it will help you understand my problem . Can't do nothing from this screen , i have to reset the system.

I downloaded SOFTMODPACK.

Extracted the "EXTRACT TO SD CARD" file to the root of my SD Card.

Completed the NUS Downloader and copied the 4 WAD files to the root of my SD card.

My SD card contains the boot file and 4 WAD files, no folders. In the guide it shows 3 folders. apps, private and wad. Do I need these folders? if so, where did they come from?

When I put my SD card in and click on the SD icon it says "reading SD card" but nothing happens.

I have already went through the install without errors but I did not do a NAND backup and I deleted all the files from the SD card when I was done so now I can't start bootmii to do a NAND backup. When my Wii starts it goes into the Wii menu. I dont see anything about a bootmii. I guess I deleted the files I needed.

For the life of me I can't remeber how I got it to work the first time. HBC is installed and works fine. What am I not seeing?

Thanks
Jim

Follow the HBC section again and try reinstalling it.

The apps, private and wad files are in the "EXTRACT TO SD CARD" file. Make sure your extarcting everything in the "EXTRACT TO SD CARD" to the SD card.

That was weird. The default program that opened the zip file did not see the folders just the boot file. I opened the zip up with IZArc and it see all files and folders. Man, was I starting to pull my hair out. I knew it was going to simple.

Thanks Alot. I haven't said it yet but this is a great place with great people.

Thanks Again

The next two wiis i'm attempting are leh183 and leh153.
Am I correct in saying that that these are below leh250 and so I can still follow your DOP-IOS guide exactly to the letter???

Also....
I have successfully done my own Wii but now need to install Priiloader as was unable to do Boot2. I've read somewhere that I shouldn't do this as I've modified some ios (just the ones in your instructions).
Can I safely install priiloader?

Sorry if these are stupid questions but it's one thing to brick my own Wii but another to brick someone elses.

Thanks
I have already covered the DOP-IOS part in the guide and a few other times in past post. If you still don't understand it then I doubt you ever will.

This guide doesn't use Preloader so if you have a preloader questions please start a new thread and ask in it.
Thanks a bunch Larry, you're really helpful.
I'm not asking you to make me understand the in's and out's of DOP-IOS, I understand that I'm an inferior life form to you and I'll never understand it but I would like an answer to my question about the safety of doing the two serials I posted above so if anyone else except our lord and saviour knows can they please share?
I'd really like to know this before I begin.
Your guide is very simple and very step by step so anyone who has a question will most likely have a "Stupid" question....If that frustrates you so much then close the thread.

You forgot to bow in my presence.

Do you really need me to confirm for you that leh183 and leh153 are below leh250?

As to closing the thread. If my replies to your questions bother you so much then why not find another guide. I am sure most that use this guide would rather see your sorry a$$ go rather then the guide.

UPDATE: I updated the guide and took out the Serial# crap on DOP-IOS. Just install the latest revisions of IOS on all systems. Don't downgrade any IOS or Firmware. Have to make it simple for those that can't get a grasp on the different serial# systems.

Try redownloading the WAD files again using NUS (like you did at the start). Then redo the DOWNGRADE IOS15, PATCH IOS36 and RESTORE IOS15 again (make sure you do not get any errors). Then try doing the AnyTitleDeleter again.

The 8 in 38 looks similar to the 0 in 60. But there is a slite difference between the 2.

I think your mistaking the 0 as an 8.

1) the installer isn't programed to have an option of Use 38 merged with 68.

2) I don't think there is even an IOS68 so how could you merge it with IOS68 if IOS58 dosent exist.

There is no need to start over. That option will not change. It says IOS38 merged with IOS60 not IOS68 your reading it wrong.
If i did Redo the softmod from the beginning Larry would that run the risk of bricking my wii?

Hi there,

I just reinstalled everything and it seems to work properly. I'll test it with a backup and I'll let you know how things work out. Thanks for your work, man!

I installed bootmii as an ISO. When I launch it, it gives me a black screen and the wii's drive just flashes. I cannot get out of this screen unless I unplug the wii. I want to make sure and back up my nand as I've read that you could end up with a bricked wii in the future. I'm new at this so I really appreciate the guide and the help.

Try reinstalling homebrew channel and bootmii again.

I tried that but I still get the same thing. I'm wondering if the fact that I skipped this step because I didn't understand it, and went on to all of the other steps might have caused this problem. Can I undo anything to get me to a point where I can try it all over again?
