I got told (don't quote me on this) but it is just grabbing information from a hidden server there is no 2 way conversation so no IP is kept. They also said the server could be anywhere in the world so finding it will be impossible.

I'm looking at it from a networking point of view mate as I don't have a SV6 but as bazzak says is there not a setting on the box in network settings for DHCP? Usually just a box to tick in network settings. This will automatically assign ip's with your router. If there isn't a DHCP setting can you change the ip's manually. Try typing something into the boxes and see if it allows then we can set it up manually.

If your using a netopia I'm going to guess your routers ip/gateway is 192.168.1.254? Your subnet mask is 255.255.255.0 and try 192.168.1.254 as your dns, try leaving the 2nd dns blank and user dns 192.168.1.254 and you know about the ip of the box (within range of 192.168.1.???). Try this and see what happens mate.

It will be the same details as your PC (go to network connections, double click lan connection , click details) apart from the last 3 digits of the ip address try something like .120 at the end so it doesn't conflict with other devices on your network

No just leave it blank and see what happens mate. If it doesn't work just put your gateway into the 2nd DNS also.

bazzak you can also just use the gateway address as the 1st and secondary and let the router handle it.

If you just want your Ip go to start >> run >> type in the black box >> ipconfig press enter that will give you your ip address

i would not start messing as router setting or you could find yourself knocked off your net

As e45 says these are all settings to input into box not the router.
