first of all i'd like to thank everyone because i really got a lot of help from this forum.
but i still have one question/problem left.
I managed to get my softmodded xbox to accept my new 80gig hd. The problem i've got now though is that the E:/ drive is still very small and the F:/ drive has about 70 gig. How can i change this? my xbox is only playing games and aplications from the E:/ drive.
I copied my old hd to my new one with the linux program from the beginning of this topid.
I hope someone can help me with this.
Much thanks,

me.

only the F: and G: drives can be large.

you need to change your setup in evox (if that's what you're using) to search games in F: also.

just to let you know, if you want to burn the iso onto a normal cd, you can. You just don't include all your game saves in the iso when u create it. Then after you have the new xbox harddrive installed, ftp the gamesaves onto the fresh harddrive...

I mentioned this back on the second page of this thread:
"I decided I would just copy my TDATA and UDATA through ftp to the new harddrive, instead of putting them on the cd b/c they were so big ~2 gig. "

xbl gamertag = destructor7
xbc gamertag = d3structor7

xbox:
-Soft Modded
-160 gig hdd

question to anybody who is still following this thread. Please help me out. I tried to build an xbox drive from scratch, but after selecting one(1) from the first menu from the xboxhdm 1.9 bootdisk, it goes through a list of information about my computer and I see the hard drive that I'm wanting to upgrade to on that list. But when I type in 'xboxhd' when asked, it gives me a message saying something like 'primary master hard drive not detected, please reboot your computer with the hard drive attached'? Now the drive is attached and set to master, and for some reason it is detecting my dvdrw and cdrom drives as hda and hdb. Please help me out. thanks and later then.

it mostly depends on the dash your using but akmost all of them have a format feature that will enable the extra drive spacei use unleashx and i know it has one under file explorer. also anything over 137 gigs is going to be put on the g drive which you have to enable in the settings.

Thanks for the reply

can i hotswap it and do the soft mod up to the stage where i dump my eeprom.bin to my pc. I presume i will not have a soft mmodded box as i wont be selecting "install softmod" from the menu ?.

If not guess i,ll will just have to soft modded and hope nothing goes wrong with either drives.

You need to softmod the org xbox drive but this dosnt mean u cant go back and make it like it was before.

You need to do a softmod so u cant FTP , without FTP u cant do anything!

The steps are clear and simpel

1- Read the guide over and over again
2- buy wht u gonna need
3- just do it.

anyway i did my softmod and as LONG as u rember to copy over the drives and make a backup of the eeprom u are safe.
ANYWAY READ THE GUIDE/S
