Are you "right clicking" the Linux ISO and opening It with Nero burning Rom ? ,or are you just trying to burn the Linux ISO file to a Data disc ?

Do you have to use Nero? Because Im trying to burn the iso image with adaptec easy cd creator, cause you can do it with that program, the file is just too big. If all I needed this whole time was Nero Im gonna throw somethin! lol

Yeah , You should use Nero ... Its best for ISO's and almost any file , download a trial of Nero or something ..
>Im not putting anything on the "CDRW "other than the "linux.iso" file. That file ALONE is 1GB+, I havent even put the C or E on the CD yet.
Something is wrong then . there is no way the Linux ISO should be that big '1GB+" and you did'nt even add C: or E: partition files .

Haha yeah I know somethin is wrong, thats why I came here. I havent downloaded Nero yet, cause I got dialup, Im gonna get my friend to do it for me. But I found on Xbins somethin about with UnleashX v.39 that you can do all this stuff with just the Xbox, any ideas on both of these things?
Better yet, instead of fixing whats wrong with my .iso file, could someone FTP theirs to me? Not the whole zip file, just the linux.iso file.

Ok. For anyone who is having the problem with your new hd loading to the M$ dash, I can almost garauntee i know your problem.
Now, since you have this problem I'm assuming you are using evoX am i correct?
EvolutionX uses virtual patching of your eeprom, meaning that when you ftp to your original hd c partition, you are just seeing virtual junk.
To the point...
What you need to do is if you used a gamesave exploit to softmod then you need to put your game in, turn off the xbox and reload it with the game in it (the light around the open button should never go red) and reload the save on your original hd. Once at the install screen, ftp is enabled. When in the install menu there is no evox running meaning no virtual eeprom. So ftp into your xbox and in c if there is a file called shadowc.img you know its the right one. Copy this C over and use it with your previously acquired E. Turn off your xbox take out your crappy 8-10GB retail hd and reburn the xbhdm cd and remake your new harddrive with this new, nonvirtual C.
I figured this out through random screwing around and common sense, so try it out remember you *MUST* see shadowc.img if its not there its not the right C its virtual.
I am shocked that others have not found this out before me?

Giving Incorrect info? Apparently the Tutorial Is'nt correct or they would'nt be asking for Help !!... Nothing but problems It seems . One major problem would be the eeprom/HD Key Is always Wrong . "jonbtrini' Thanks for the Tutorial but what may have worked for you ,does'nt mean It will work for Others.. Example : Look how long this thread Is,You get my drift . I have gave my best effort to Help people , So If I'm giving the Incorrect Information " So called " How come it works ? The tutorial is wrong and most of the others I seen based on the Tutorial Is wrong i.e. -Config-Magic- "Wrong eeprom" or the eeprom Backup Is Always wrong . My Solution : Get eeprom from the UDATA folder .
P.S. Read my Soultions Before you think I don't know what I'm talking about. P.S.P.S. Maybe I should write a Tutorial for UnleashX , Seems that always works .
Thanks Pitt

Im gonna agree with Pittfan. Thanx for the tutorial and all, but you make it sound a lot easier than it really is, especially for us noobs. By the way, I finally got mine to work, at least partially, so thanx for the help dude. Turns out that when I deleted my UDATA and TDATA files and remade the iso file that it was only about 300mb, hopefully it will work when I get to copy em all to the hard drive.

ok johnny you said you hadnt added your c and e drives yet? where did the udata and tdata folders come from? also the iso file is from the creation of everything in that folder, the c,e,f,g drives as well as the eeprom, its all being put in that iso file. i think the tutorial is flawless if people can adapt alittle and know what they are doing. If you cant mod your original hdd you shouldnt do this. there is no perfect tutorial. there are always be little things that people are going to have to figure out for themselves. If you dont get it the first time, start from scratch and try again it shouldnt take that long. ive done it 3 times now each time i had to do something different to get it to work. but all 3 times it did work just fine. now i have a 60, 120, and 200 GB modded hdd's all thanks to this tutorial.

You should'nt have to rename the eeprom . Config-Magic from what I have seen gives the wrong eeprom/HD key also . :/
Just FTP to your E:/UDATA Folder , Move the E:/UDATA Folder to your Desktop and search for the eeprom.bin , That will be the correct eeprom.. Put the eeprom.bin In your xboxhdm\linux\eeprom folder.
