ANN - lol, ok look back thru the last few pages until you see me start to appear, around page 7 I think. Follow all my advice to Katchoo et al ESPESH regarding total removal of MPT from your pc before trying to reinstall following my guidelines.

It is a pain but most people I have personally helped have managed to get it going this way!!

If you have any further problems send me a PM and we can go thru it step by step on msn!!

Ha Ha. Right click that device the unknown one and direct your update driver to the mpt installation folder.

TBH, Anything Motorola should be given to the kids, Motorala are much to difficult to configure correctly

After scanning this threads and others I have yet to find an answer to the issue that is cause me to pull my hair out. I had no problem on my newer laptop, getting everything up and running. The issue I am having is installing it on my co-workers' machine. While trying to install MPT, as the wizard is launching, I get a strange error: Error 1327.Invalied Drive: E:\. The E drive is an external hard drive but it is not connected and I have disabled it in several ways to try to trick it. This hasn't helped any. I don't know why this would cause a problem in the first place as all the need components for the installation are on the main drive and this is where I'm trying to actually install MPT. Any suggestions on how I can trick it into working/get it to work like it should/ or as to why it is doing it?????

Thanks in advance for any reply's. If you can point me anywhere the near the right direction that to will help.

J

WIREONE - if none of these threads help you then nothing well. The direction you are looking to be pointed in is to a mobile phone store where upon you can get a phone w/o problems using what should be a simple feature.

No probs with Sony, NOKIA, etc

The problem is not with the phone and it's not with the program. The error is caused by some issue with this particullar computer and the program. I have had no problems in the past with MPT. This is the first time such an error has occured. I was posting to see if anyone might have a clue as to the problem and might help fix the issue. If someone can help I will be greatful. Any suggestions would be extremely helpful.

To JordanC1: Next time please just help or not. I don't want to waste my time with what comes across as a rude comment that has nothing to do with the help I seek or the question I ask.

Sorry, was in a hurry writing. This particular thread has many many suggestions regarding solutions. Every PC is different so you have to try many different things.

Regarding getting rid of motorola, that is a personal choice I have made due to many problems I have had, perhaps I should have put a smilie face after my comment. :)

Ok, so I've been going back and forth on this mobile phone tools and now this is what I've got.

I've got the 3.11 version, I've done the Motorola USB driver, And so now my thing doesn't lag on initializing!!! But then here's the problem, I still can't transfer anything, basically it doesn't show my real battery life nor does it show my reception bars. But I don't have the (Mobile Not Connected) Icon.

My questions are.

1. Do I have to click the Send is active & Recieve is active boxes? Cause If I do, I don't see the icons on my thing which normally show that it's disabled.

2. Why doesn't it look like i'm really connected? All the side panel buttons work, meaning i can highlight them. When i go to anything like the studio and such, I don't get the button to transfer to phone or vice versa, it's greyed out. So meaning, I'm not connected somehow.

3. I am using my sony cybershot camera mini usb cable, is that the reason? I have a cable coming in soon supposedly for the phone but i've read that it's all the same with mini cables kinda.

Please help me out as I'm SOOOO close, yet so far away (SIGH)

1/24/2003 was my driver date
2.0.0.0 driver version

any suggestions?

Hawaii when you saw the exclamation mark did you point the driver at the MPT folder? To be honest I'm not sure what the code 10 is.

HawaiiGQ....I kept getting the code 10 and 28 and i have the motorola cord...I finally had to uninstall mpt and remove all the drivers...After rebooting I plugged the phone into the cord and plugged it into the computer, when the wizard found new hardware i had to uncheck the automatically find and had to tell it what to install, it will give u a box of choices, mine was Motorola....Motorola USB cable, then it had to detect my port. Hopefully that will work for your's also.....

MPT is NOT supposed to be free. It is a program created by BVRP to enable the transfer of data between phone and PC nd to act as a modem for laptops etc.

If you want the latest version with no problems about the download then go to BVRP's website and PAY for it.

However if you find certain links dont work why dont you try using a P2P app where you can find most versions of MPT so you may try before you buy. If you do use this method and find you use the program regularly then buy it, (legality and all that). :)
