he is right! if you put in too long it damage it! Creates weird errors like "put 360 game in" when you have far cry in Watch out!

If your talking about the notebook cooler is does not do that...only the NYKO intercooler cause promblems.

I never had problems with the 360 being overheated...
I played like 7 hours straight the other day and it wasnt even warm or anything...
maybe my house is cold.
PS3...it only does everything(that Sony allows it to)

CrisKahn2, edit your sig to conform to forum specs ASAP.
2. An image-only signature should be less than 50kb in size, and be at most 500 pixels wide and 200 pixels tall.
4. If you want to use both text and image in your signature the image should not be more than 500 pixels wide and 100 pixels tall, and you can use up to three lines of text.

My 360 overheated the other day, and now overheats after a minute or two gameplay. I used the nyko intercooler, to keep the temperature inside the console down, and likely did the exact opposite!
Got it fixed now, and removed the Intercooler and torched it.

the 360 overheats and it wont take much to fry it if your is a tank(working fine) I still would run threw the basics of keeping it cool you don't want to waste money to replace it.

I left my xbox 360 on over night with the NYKO intercooler and it hasn't done anything, but now i know problems can go wrong i'm going to check it everyday

So far, I've confirmed that Target's extended warranty is useless, it's mail-driven, and I do NOT want to deal with that. Anyone got any suggestions on the warranty side? (Other than stay away from those infernal inter-coolers)

I only buy from Best Buy because of their extended warranty. I have had 5 iPods that died within one week about a year ago and they swaped them out no questions. I bought the warranty for my PSP there, and it died a year after, there was also a $50 price drop, and I was also given the $50 along with a new PSP.

Just to let everyone know, this happened to me about nine months ago and Nyko was kind enough to replace my 360 prem, and they also gave me a bunch of there accessories to compensate me for my loss. All I had to provide them was some pictures of what it did. They will send you out a box for you to ship them the intercooler and the 360. They only asked for the 360, no cords or controllers or even face plate and the ended up sending me out and brand new prem console so I ended up with duplicates of everything. Two hard drives, an extra controller and so on. At the time, they said this was extremely rare and I was the one of 10 people to have this problem. Needles to say the also sent me out another intercooler but I didn't have the balls to put it on again.

they've probably done that for the 10 out of 1000 people that called them :X
in any case calling the store you bought it from or nyko then MS would be the better way to do it.

I was playing Gears of War on Live the other day for maybe an hour... have the Nyko on there and also a mini 3" room fan in front of my 360 (360 sits on belly - not upright)... when I was on MANSION level, my fps must have dropped to NO JOKE 5-10fps for about 60-90 seconds straight. I was dumbfounded... I couldn't believe how choppy it was.
I figured it was the level Mansion... I've noticed it's not as smooth as other maps, and in my guess it's partly b/c of the rain in the map. Anyway, choppiness got less (though it was still slightly there). Next map was Gridlock which usually doesn't get choppy... and within minutes it was choppy as hell again.
So anyway, now I have the Nyko cooler off... it still gets choppy, but definitely hasn't dropped AS LOW again. I'm almost certain my box is overheating, and so I've now placed the 3" mini room fan behind the 360 to help exhaust the hot air.
This crap is ridiculous. I'm SO pissed at Microsoft. Unfortunately, I hacked my dvd drive, so I can't try to do an exchange. I'm still trying to figure out the best (cheapest) way to keep the box cool. I'm leaning towards watercooling (but mounting the waterblocks may be a pain in the ass)... or cutting new holes into the case for additional fans. I know the 360 motherboard has a 3-pin header with solder points, so I can just solder in a spare 120mm fan for intake.
On my 2nd xbox 360 (which I have at my gf's), I'm using the Antec Laptop Cooler technique, and so far it's been working like a charm. This 360 used to FREEZE...
In conclusion, both of my 360s overheat, and for both I always have a fan blowing onto them at the very least... meaning, even with a slight modification the boxes still freeze... so sad for Microsoft... really put a bad taste in my mouth.

ya the 360 is really messed up the elite will be the same and thats the most sadest....\
the best was to cool a 360 is to get the internal fan sets theres 2 of them with the newer air duct mod and isntall them thats abotu it.

I don't know there policy on exchanges other than what I received from Nyko. I do know that going through MS is not your best option because MS will not even service it if a third party accessory caused the damage in the first place. For me, I didn't have the option to take it back to the store because I was out of warranty with the store. The only option was to take it to Nyko. There was only two technicians that handle all the problems. The one that helped me was Chris Wells. Call there support # and ask for him if he still works there.

you dont always have to tell MS what caused it merely its broken and they will fix it as long as its not been opened.

I have had a NYKO fan since about the beginning of January and nothing has happened to my 360. I saw this post and checked my fan and 360 and it is fine, nothing burnt or anything. Maybe you were one of the unlucky few who got a faulty fan or your xbox was faulty.

Same here, have had the intercooler on since last year and still no problems. Glad to see that Nyko is taking responsibility though.

My Nyko cooler was giving my 360 fits. It made it cut on and off by itself. I think it something to do with the power supply port on that Nyko cooler. It did the same for my brother's. Since i stopped using it my 360 has been fine.

ok well i just saw another video and this guy said if you have orange on the fans its good and i saw another one and he said only the one with merimac is good so im confused what color was the sticker on ur fan cause mine is orange

I didnt even read most of this thread I just had to say thank god someone else got this. I have been telling all my customers not to use them. The basic thought that something that will drain that much power THROUGH the system cant be good for it. The damn things DONT cool the system that good and they are now proven to be dangerouse. super sweet. I hate those things
