No probs MrBeefy, had a pretty good feeling it was your media that was causing problems. Trust me, I used to make the same mistakes. Then I learned that 30/100 should not be coasters, and 40 of the 70 that did work should not stop working after a half a year. Either way, glad you got it figured out. Have fun :D

@Wabba- hey, no problem
Sorry about the h202, im in chem class so i think of everything that way,
it is simply Hydrogen Peroxide, picked up at longs for like, 2 bucks. i don't know if anything else will work... sry but im sure any cleaning solution will work.

hey Tyler,
dont worry about being too chemistry oriented. its my background too. ya, hydrogen peroxide--i could prolly get some from the lab if i checked....hmm... i think i'll stick with isopropanol since i know a lot of guides suggest it, and ps2 repair companies even try to sell it. but thanks for the reply.
please dont say anything you wouldnt say to someone if they were physically in your face.

Originally posted by hiredgoon: first of all there is a million topics saying how to burn a ps2 game here. Try searching next time. Second you say you know about computers but you can't follow 2 steps and the fact that the burner is doing the READ and WRITE? Those steps assume you have a dvd/cd burner since you are asking how to burn game in the first place.
I will still help you out....
1. Take the ps2 game put it in the dvd rom or dvd burner, your choice.
2. open the dvd decryptor program then go to to tool bar and hit MODE>ISO>READ. Then choose the correct dvd drive that the game is in as the "source". Also choose where you want the files to be stored on the pc hdd. THEN CLICK DECRYPT , or the huge graphical picture at the bottom of the program which makes it run. The game is now copying to your HDD. Take the game out when finished (it might take a while).
3. Go to the same tab in dvd decryptor and choose MODE>ISO>WRITE. This will then let you look for the files you just created in step 2. Select the file that you just created. (There is only 2 files creadted so pick the smaller one, I forget what its called. If it dosen't work pick the other file instead.) Then click WRITE, make sure there is blank DVD or CD in the drive depending on if its a cd or dvd game.
The game is now burning.... when done Take the game out!
Yo what about the mod chip for the ps2 you sure you don't need that to be able to play the Playstation game

Of course you need a mod chip/swap magic. He was explaining the burning process, that has nothing to do with the fact you need a mod of some sort to play the backup.

@Talon55,
ya, i saw your post, but i thought it was more of a heads up statement than a question that needed responding to...
but i think sony should be ok... i checked it out a couple days back and saw that theyre made in japan-- at least they were the accucore ones that come in a yellow box i think (and i think DVD+R comes in blue box).
but i think they should be ok... i'm no expert though...
but what i did in the very beginning was buy sony DVD+R, and they worked. i want to prolong the life of my laser as best i can so about a week ago i bought some TY media-- 35$ CAN for 50 discs, shipped and all.
but if the sony works, i would continue to use em. but i wonder if it might be tuff for your laser and it might suffer. it could also depend how old the system is.
please dont say anything you wouldnt say to someone if they were physically in your face.

LMAO Ripper are you the honorary mod of the DVD backup thread???
And yeah, you can for sure put games that originated as ps2 cd games onto Dvd's, but the conversion process can be really annoying and a lot of the time you will have a nice coaster even after doing things correctly. As far as multiple ps1 games on a DVD-R, thats the first time ive heard of somewanting that. I used to burn the 5-6 games on a DVD then dump them onto my xbox HDD, but have no idea about how to go about doing something like that on a ps2 :/
