2IIPack, edit your sig to conform to forum specs ASAP.
2. An image-only signature should be less than 50kb in size, and be at most 500 pixels wide and 200 pixels tall.
4. If you want to use both text and image in your signature the image should not be more than 500 pixels wide and 100 pixels tall, and you can use up to three lines of text.

Hey guys I'm new a new member but I have been reading everyone's posts and I get everything but I have a problem with something.
So I burnt DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 2 to my HDD and so I used DVD Decrypter
and did the read then write at 4x speed on a DVD-R Memorex 16x. I put swap magic in the PS2 and load it all up. at the part where it says load program and video mode I put my backup copy into the drive and click X on the controller, It says not a valid PS2 disk.
Please someone help me out I've been reading so many posts and pages but I still don't know what I'm doing wrong.

@2IIPack
You are making very little sense, im over it
@MrBeefy1
Only thing that is apparent by your post is you using 16x memorex DVD's/. Not only do GOOD 16x DVD's give some peeps problems, using such sh!t as Memorex 16x isnt a great idea. Get some better media
And what do you mean "burnt" to your HDD????? Do you mean ripped??? Burning is what you do when you put an image on a disk, ripping is what you do when you take an image off a disk and put in on your hard drive.

sounds like something is corrupt, or your laser is going, you might want a new copy of DVD Decrypter but i dont think that is it, it sounds more like you drive is sticking if it is burning the disc itself

i would really appreicate it if someone could please help me out with my problems...
A month ago, i bought a modded ps2. the version is the SPCH-30004 one.
It plays original games fine, and it used to play burned games (blue bottom) no problem when i first played them. now, it still plays original silver discs ok, but it has trouble with my blue burned copies-- it just stays at the browser screen, i guess trying to load up the game.
i'm using Taiyo yuden, DVD+R (i think my ps2 prefers DVD+R), and i know these games work, bcause they used to. i know, i follow the old DVD Decrypter, iso read iso write, or if i need to, unrar the files and then burn the iso from there. dont worry, i understand how to make the disc.
now these blue games sometimes work, sometimes not. i get stuck at the browser screen and the ps2 keeps trying to read the disc, but it cant. when the blue disc game does load though, it plays no problem, no hiccups or glitches at all. can anyone please give me some tips. should i try the method described on the first page of this thread? is it the laser thats dying? please save my ps2! if theres something else you need to know, please let me know :) thanks!!!
please dont say anything you wouldnt say to someone if they were physically in your face.

Try opening your ps2 and cleaning the laser with a q-tip and some rubbing alcohol. If that doesnt work, the laser might be going dead on you :(
EDIT
MrBeefy
The best of the best are Taiyo Yuden 8x DVD-R (TYG02). These disks have never let me down. Burn at 4x for best results. The best place to get these disks is http://www.supermediastore.com
I have also bought the value line Taiyo's, they work awesome for me aswell. Only thing is that you might recieve TYG03, which is 16x....same level of quality, just some people say that their ps2's dont like 16x media :)

No problem MrBeefy :) Nice to help people that actually appreciate it every once in a while! It sounds like you are burning correctly, so you should see a big difference using better media. I have Tenkaichi 2, and it works flawlessly. Keep us updated if using better DVD's helps you out, far too many people think that media means nothing :/

thanks stang. i checked a few threads on this site and around the net and found instructions on how to open up the case and clean the laser... but i was just wondering if anyone else had the same scenario happen to them.
most instructions are for Disc Read Errors. and i dont think just staying on the browser screen and not reading is really an actual "disc read error". cool. thanks again.
has this ever happened to anyone? and i'd love to [please hear any more ideas!

LOL thanks man, here to help....i think :)
@WabbaJ
Thats an interesting scenario. So pressed copies work, backups that originated from blur bottomed ps2 disks dont?? Try backing up a movie and load it on your ps2, and see how that works, it should work perfect even without a mod. Hmmm....I would go to a local store, buy the smallest quantity of -Rs you can find, then make another backup using the original image off the pressed disk. If the -R doesnt work, then its a laser issue, and would try the q-tip and rubbing alcohol fix. If that doesnt work, time to replace the laser.

i have actually had that problem myself, even with origonals, sometimes i have to turn my ps2 on and off, eject and reload, it is on one of my older ps2s. i finally gave up and bought a new one but mine was not modded
my games would eventually load if i waited long enough

thanks for the ideas man. i had thought it might come to that. i think i might end up trying it in the christmas break-- i dont want to get my head stuck in there with school to worry about right now. but thanks again, and i'll keep looking and let you all know if something comes up.
@problems
that sucks :) but thats just how a ps2 is i guess. i know what youre talking about; ejecting the disc, turning off power, putting the disc back in, the whole cycle continues for 15 minutes. ya, i hate it. i'll prolly end up opening her up and tinkering sometime :)
thank you both, and please feel free to make a note of anything you might come across or remember. thanks againm ;)

hey again stang... Tokijin, ya :)
i was reading a few threads that him and one named Mik3e put together and it pretty much covered everything on how to take apart the ps2, clean the lens, check out what works with trial and error, and then finally put it back together. in the same post was a "how to" for rebuilding games. i know who youre talking about so thats cool-- really sseems to know his stuff-- and punts people for using bad media ;)
so please do let him know my deal. and no rush, its a favor and u can take your time for sure. thanks boss!

@stang- no really, i wasnt being too sarcastic.. :-)
@WabbaJ- i had that problem, my PS2 wouldn't even read anything!! not backups, not regular, not even music CDs!!!!So i opened up the case (screws at bottom) then took out the four tiny screws on the DVD drive, cleaned the head with Som H2O2, put it back together and has worked ever since, about six months.
@danny- when you RIP with DVDDecrypter you get an .MDS and an .ISO, but when you install WinRAR it automatically becomes the default opener for .ISO's!!!!
Uninstall WinRAR, reinstall- this time making sure that the little box in front of iso's is not checked, then it will default to the original and you can burn it just fine....blah...blah blah
Sory for such a long post guys

@Tyler (talon55),
thanks for your feedback, much appreciated. so, i guess youre giving me some motivation to try cleaning out the laser. BUT...
you cleaned it with "Som H2O2"... is that some sort of hydroperoxide solution? is it store bought or a "solvent"? i thought isopropanol (aka isopropyl alcohol & rubbing alcohol) should do the trick.
could you please pass me some words on solution choice? thanks! ;)
