LMAO psp, just laugh man! This thread makes me laugh all the time....all the answers are in front of these lazy a@@ed people faces, half the time 3 posts before them! Take it with a grain of salt.....at this point every question that can possibly relate to backing up ps2 games has been answered atleast 20 times.....now its on the lazy to figure out that there are more pages in this thread than the one they are taken too when they push "last post".

Lets see, Dvd's come as +R, -R, rw, and dual layer.......-R is the best media for ps2 backups...if you cant play a backup correctly with +R or -R, read the thread and try again...
Do you even have a modchip or use Swap Magic??????

Hi... I was wondering.. i have a PS2 and i have a MOD-Chip in my machine.... If i were to burn dvd games... do i still need a dvd decryptor program... or i can just burn them like normal dvd and run them... cause when i burn them like normal dvd it dosen't work... plz help... thnx

Hi, i was just wanting to clarify a few things. i have swap magic v3.6, a dvd + or - rw with dl support, a flip top mod case for my slimline ps2. my problem is i was trying to back up one of my games to test this with and it is to big to fit on a regular DVD-R so i was wondering if i can compress it or if i have to get dvd+dl or is there something i am missing. thank you for any help you can give me.

Decrypter is used TO BURN GAMES.....GET IT, LEARN IT, LOVE IT

You will need to rebuild it...there are stickies for that also (who woulda thought?) Swap Magic doesnt support DVD-9, so you will either need to rebuild it to fit on a DVD-5 or move on. BTW dont EVER USE rw, stick with -R

Help!
Ok, so I am having issues buring PS2 games. I am new to burning PS2 games, but have been burning movies for years. So do you have to have a mod chip in your ps2 to play burns? Also I have been trying to use dvd decryptor, but every time I put in a game in my DVDR drive, dvd decryptor, will read it, and say not a dvd. So I can's rip it to my desktop. Can anyone help me on this, also, are there any free programs I can grab to burn games - so I don't have to deal with one of these mod chips??? Someone please help.

do all of us a favor and read at least this page of the thread,
1: is the game a CD or a DVD
2: YES u need a MOD CHIP or SWAP MAGIC
3: if you are using DVD Decrypter then go to mode>>iso>>read
4: if it dont read it is eaither a CD or you dont have a dvd burner
5: READ

hi i need help
my 1st time gettin a game on ps2.
i burnt it and patched it but when i load i on ps2 it doesn't appear. its not like when it comes up with incorrect format it just says reading disc then nothing just shows memory cards. plz help really want it 2 work. thx very much

what program are you using, use -R discs, if you are just getting the memory card icon then your ps2 is not even registering that there is a disc, could be media could be your laser

If you would have read, you would have seen that. I recommended not using rw for a reason....

copied from another thread.. "Anyway, I'm using DVD Decrypter, a benq1655 and a matrix infinity modded pstwo, all stuff that I've seen recommended here over and over and my burns are not working. Other folks have given me their burns and they do fine. I've also tried nero's image burning and that won't work either. I guess the problem is the file or the media? I'm using Fujifilm DVD-Rs (made in taiwan boo) and the game is Melty Blood, japanese fighting game. tired of wasting discs now, they were like $1/piece."
I've decided that it must just be the Fujis. Where's the best place to buy those Taiyo Yuden discs?
