stang you should really be crediting GAME COPY PRO and it bonus material, that is were that came from word for word from the bonus material
not that it matters but every were i read people want proper credit to proper places, and you need to delete the primo part it doesnt work, and then people will get confused, i would limit it to dvd decrypter

LOL im sure the dude that originally posted did jack the info from a site, pretty obvious since half the information has no relevance to ps2 dvd backups. Either way I take no credit for that post, and more importantly, dont want credit for crap like that. Im not a net dork, I like helping when I have time but am not trying to be the king of aD, there are people who spend all their waking hours on here. Ill let them own that title :)

I just wanted to thank everyone for all the information posted in this thread.. i have read pages 1-67 in the past couple days. I am a noob when it comes to making ps2 backups. but i've been making backups of cds/dvd's for 10 years now. Everything was clearly explained. I already have all the software necessary to do PS2 backups. and since most people don't search the threads i've seen the same questions answered 1000+ times. My fliptop and swap magic combo should arrive next week. i already have the verbatim 8x dvd-r's. wish me luck..thanks again. and i'll post my results. PEOPLE, READ THROUGH THE THREAD!! ALL THE ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS ARE THERE!! (sorry, didnt mean to yell)

Either 2X or 4X, PS2's vary when it comes to that.

yeah, but most of the time i have found that 4x is your best bet... everyone on the few different forums sites says it works... so you should try that first... if rewarded with a new coaster, try again with 2X

From what i read. If it's kinda choppy then either slow it down or speed up the burn right? i also have a bunch of 16X verbatim DVD-R's. I was thinking of trying @ half speed (8x). I'm still waiting on the fliptop/swap magic to arrive. i have a game ready to try out to see if everything works right. Also, i've read that rip speed matters and others say it doesnt matter. i ripped my games @ around 2.5x with my laptop. i then transferred them to my PC via home network. (just experimenting ya know). Last night i read pages 68-101 of the forum..same questions..same answers. should i even bother reading the rest?..thanks again people

@JDEVIL well if you made it to 101 u might as well finish, for the price of a disc just try a couple of speeds to see what works best for your set up, i have the 16x verbatims and i have had no problems burning at 4x, as far as ripping i put it to max and no problems. Sounds like you will have a successful first atempt
@sweet yeah got tired of the other, but i still need to make a better one

okay i dont get what im doing wrong.
here i did everything it says on this thread. i used a TDK DVD-RW to burn, set the speed to 2x, using alcahol 120% and yet when i stick it in it goes to the main ps2 dashboard and i click browser and it says no data. it did succesfully burn because when i just stick it in my computer all the right files are there. my ps2 is chipped i dunno what kind of mod chip or anything because it used to be my friends and he played all loads of fake games he bought for so cheap on it and they work perfectly fine but the cd i made doesnt work! it just goes back to the main screen. any ideas?
cheers mate,
haha sorry for double posting

do not use -RW use -r instead, burn at 4x with DVD Decrypter, but it sound like your mod chip is not working

Do they still make dvd-rw's?? maybe i just don't pay attention to them @ the store..i really don't see the point of having them unless you're making a data disc for computer or mp3's that you edit over time.. oh and i too read all 137 pages..just finished last night. So, not to sound like a dick but almost every single page states NOT to use an RW disc. Get yourself some Verbatim DVD-R's. You can't go wrong with them and your PS2 Laser will last longer.

Hm, it seems like the only problem is that you're using a DVD-RW. Use a DVD-R.
Anyone know where I can get some good DVD-R-9s for a good price. I need about $20. Well, I'll look around. THey don't have to be that high of quality, I'm just saving some video files on them. Thanks.
Taiyo Yudan DVDs... Hmm... I'll look into those. Well, see ya later.
Oh, and as I said before, I used Sony and Maxell DVDs and burned them at 8x speeds and they work perfectly fine.
EDIT: Are Sony DVD-R 4x's good? I mean, it's a Sony DVD going in a Sony PS2 right? I know that sounds dumb, but just wondering.
The break of day is but beyond a cry of hidden sorrow.

bnc11,
Requesting and/or offering invites is a great way to get banned. Let's not do it again.
