Hi. First of all, excuse me if I comite any mistakes on my redaction (I`m not english). I have the AR MAX original software and the MATRIX INFINITY 1.9.1 modchip on my PS2, but I can`t get my game backups to work (the AR MAX can't read the disc). I've downloaded the Swap Magic 3.6 and burned it on a CD but even after following the tutorial posted here, when I put the Swap Magic on the PS2 after the "loading game" screen, I get back to the browser screen that shows the image of a PS2 DISC to choose. Every time I select it, the same thing happens (I'm Being redirected to the browser screen). Well, my question is, what am I doing wrong, and how do I make the game backup to work?

DXrules- yes you can
comminup- yes you need a high toc game.I use Devil May Cry
Latiz- this tutorial is used to install a memory card exploit.
It has nothing to do with a swap magic disk or a Matrix Infinity Modchip. If i remember correctly the Matrix Infinity is a no-swap modchip meaning you just put the backup in the ps2 and play,no AR MAX needed. If I were you id take your problems up with the Matrix website, not here as this has nothing to do with your problem

comminup,
Or at least an original game which has a higher TOC than the backup.

I'm afraid you are still fooked!
You need an original ps2 disc that will boot, that has the media software on it already.
The download from the website it to enable you PC to write PS2 disks / usb's that can be read by their software, but it will NOT allow you to do what you want.

let me clarify this for you...
What zippy is trying to tell you(and not being to clear)is that the copy of ARMAX that you buy HAS to have an option on the main screen that says "Max Media Player".
Or on the cover box of the ARMAX you purchased HAS to say "Includes Max
Media Player, play homebrews on your PS2 without the use of a modchip!"
you can download the max media CREATOR program, but to use the cd's it creates on your ps2 your copy of ARMAX MUST have Max Media PLAYER on it.

yes this method will allow you to play out of region backups. i have played many NTSC backups on a PAL console, however you will probably need a stepdown/up converter for your TV unless you use ARMax's Pal/NTSC or NTSC/PAL codes

If you have the new Slimline ps2, you do not have this option and must load cogswaploader through ARMAX every time.
what does this mean? (pretty much the same as my first question)
and when you say pen drive, does it have to be the one from action replay or can it be a normal USB drive

xopher,
I guess The Independence Compiler program is not compatible with Vista at this stage.
Once you have Cogswap Loader on your memory card, you just need to insert an original PSX disc (ie. PS1 game) for the Cogswap program to boot up. This will enable you to do the swap trick and play your backups. Note that you need to have the old fat PS2 console for this method to work. If you have the new slimline PSTwo console, you'll need the ARMAX disc which has the Media Player option built-in to boot up Cogswap Loader.
Yes, a bin/cue file is an image file which you need to burn onto disc using a burning program like Nero for example.
The pen drive can be a normal USB drive. However, not all normal USB drives work so you might have to try different brands. The one from Action Replay would be sure to work though.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, I burned cdloader.elf with nero (first made a bin and cue file with max media creator) and it doesn't load in the max media player ( I burned it as a data disc, maybe it has to be something else ) what Am I doing wrong?

xopher,
There are these discs called Swap Magic Discs you can buy if you can't return your ARMAX disc. They will let you load your backups.
Vampie,
If you created a bin/cue image with Max Media Creator, then you can also use it to burn the image straight to disc rather than use Nero. Select the Alternate Method.

4.7Gb is the biggest TOC for a single layer DVD game. Devil May Cry, Fifa 05 and 06 are all 4.7Gb. Although, the size seems to differ between the PAL and the NTSC version of the same game.
I don't know which CD game has the biggest TOC.
In saying this, you can rebuild a large TOC game to make it smaller.
Go here for another TOC list of DVD games. There doesn't seem to be a TOC list for CD games around.

Don't you mean 4.37 GB? because looking at that list, Devil May Cry isn't 4.7 GB, it's 4.37.

If you mean GigaBytes then yes, it's 4.37GB. However, I wrote Gigabit.
A DVD-5 disc is capable of storing 4.7 gigabits, or roughly 4.37 gigabytes.
Gigabytes is commonly abbreviated as GB (not to be confused with Gb, which is used for gigabits).

wtf are you talking about. you obviously have no idea what you are talking about
so a gigabit would be 1,000,000,000bits
a byte is 8 bits, a Kb is 1024 bytes (1024 * 8= 8,192),a MB is 1024 bytes (8,192*1,024=8,388,608)and a gigabyte is 1024MB (8,388,608*1024).
So 1 Gigabyte is 8,589,934,592bytes.
but you are saying that 1 gigabit is larger than a gigabyte despite the fact that bytes are larger than bits.
The true reason is that Media Manufacturers (both for CD's And for Hard drives) Say there are 10 bits to a byte. 1000 bytes to a kilobyte, 1000 kilobytes to a megabyte, 1000 megabytes to a gigabyte.
whereas microsoft recognise 8bits to a byte, 1024to a kb, 1024 to a MB, 1024 to a GB
So 4.7GB / 1000 / 1000 / 1000 / 10 = 0.00000000047
0.00000000047 * 8 * 1024 * 1024 * 1024 = 4.3726925824
Hence why you only see 4.37GB
