Can someone please help me?
I'm sorry, but I am so lost. A few questions:
1)I'm trying to extract a file (Final Fantasy X-2 International), but it's a 3dsmax file and I cant select it in the "choose a file" option. It is apparently not supported.
(This question is my first priority)
2)I found another save file, I can extract it (XPS file, but It doesn't have a "garage" file. What's the problem here? Will this mess with anything?
3) I have Free MC Boots that has an option called uLauncElf in the menu is it the same thing do I have to copy it to a cd?, can I just use that instead?
4)Are you just saying to just put it( the save folder) in a random usb drive and open ULE on my ps2? One I bought from the store? Sorry if I sound like an idiot. You COMPLETELY lost me here.
5) You say you can use different region saves?! No way! Then how do I extract my own ps2 save file?
Sorry if these answers were already answered. Thanks in advance. ^v^

What the heck is a 3dsmax file, where did you get it from. PS2_Save_Builder will open .max files
2)I found another save file, I can extract it (XPS file, but It doesn't have a "garage" file. What's the problem here? Will this mess with anything?
The files will not look the same as the GT4 in the example used in the tutorial.
Each game is different as to what files may be inside the game save, so whatever files show up in PS2_Save_builder is what you have for that particular game save.
3) I have Free MC Boots that has an option called uLauncElf in the menu is it the same thing do I have to copy it to a cd?, can I just use that instead?
Yes
4)Are you just saying to just put it( the save folder) in a random usb drive and open ULE on my ps2? One I bought from the store? Sorry if I sound like an idiot. You COMPLETELY lost me here.
Yes once you create the folder with the game id, and extract the files into it, then just follow from step 4 being you copy the FOLDER to our usb drive, then use uLaunch elf to copy it too the memory card.
5) You say you can use different region saves?! No way! Then how do I extract my own ps2 save file?
Yes way, it does work, I have done it many times.
Using a different game as example (Kingdom Hearts 2), the Japanese version is "BISLPM-66233-01" and the US version is "BASLUS-21005-07". If you want to use the Japanese save on the US game, you'd need to rename "BISLPM-66233-01" to "BASLUS-21005-07", save this change, then save the whole thing to a folder called "BASLUS-21005-07"

When I browse to mass:/, I don't see anything,
And is it a really bad problem that when it it's done booting up, it says "Failed To Load LAUNCHELF.CMF" in red at the top?
EDIT: It doesn't say that anymore, now it says
"Loaded Config(mc0:/LAUNCHELF.CMF)"

Once uLe is launched, go to FILEBROWSER, then put in your USB stick.
Give it a sec to load, then go to /MASS
If you don't see anything in /MASS , then your USB stick is either not compatible or not formatted as FAT32

Could you help me again? I just got KHII:Final Mix, but I didn't get Re: Chain of Memories with it. Nor have I played the NA release yet. Since I can't find a jp save or address of the Japanese Re: Chain of Memories, I copied what I saw from a disc (what I thought I saw) from a picture on Google, and changed the name and everything with the folder, everything seemed to go fine, but I'm just not sure it worked, the KHRCOM file is on my mc and all but, should the info be in Japanese or something? I want the save to affect KHII:FM, but I don't know how to tell if it worked or not. If anyone has played KHFMII with a finished KHRCOM file, can you tell me how you know if the COM file affects the FM file in the beginning?
To summarize, does anyone have a complete Japanese save file of Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories, because it seems that Gamefaqs has deleted all the JP files.

Hi there
Kingdom Hearts Re: chain of memories was only sold in Europe and NA
as you will see in this link
http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/data/954016.html
The KH 2 FM is the japanese version. Disc 2 is Chain of memories.
If you download the one save in this thread, you can watch in theatre mode in english
I found a KH 2 FM dub version, and used that save.
Hope that makes sense to you. I haven't played through either of them yet.

You will always find the latest uLaunch.elf here - link
No the mods are not heavy to the PS2. I am assuming you mean in size on the memory card.

It depends upon how you will launch the uLe, either by CD or DVD or download the uLE v4.39.zip if you want the ELF file.
That is the correct guide too use.

Smokyrain I need a bit of advise! I have a ps2 that is starting to act up so I decided to rip all my games to my pc so I can play em on a ps2 emulator. Thing go downhill from here!
I have all my save games on my memory stick but it says they are in a .max format. Do I need to change the format of them to get it to read? Another thing is when I go to use the ps2 emulator for example I load up Kingdom hearts and when I go to load memory cards it says the cards are not formatted!! Do you know any way of fixing this or am I screwed? The emulator I am using is pcsx2.
Thanks

Hi
You need to use the program called 'mymc' to convert the saves

Hi
I can't manage MGS3:S to work. I have EU version so i downloaded EU save, done all this stuff in PS2 Save Builder which is mentioned in first post of this topic and it's still not working. When i use PS2 memory card browser i can see this save on my MC, but when i start the game it can't find any saves.
Now with details:
save which i downloaded and game can't see it:
folder: BESLES-820441G000001
files inside:
_gE05KCW8OKnaPSII+imEsMwTDGiw
BESLES-820441G000001
icon.sys
mgs3.ico
Next i made a new save (in game) after deleting downloaded one and it looks like:
folder: BESLES-820421G000001
files:
_gE1nLNaKMT1jf8aVqjvR4azZQ-Mq
BESLES-820421G000001
icon.sys
mgs3.ico
So next i deleted original save and renamed downloaded folder to BESLES-820421G000001 and done the same with the file inside.
Now game can see save, but when i tried to load it game says that the save is broken. Next i renamed _gE05KCW8OKnaPSII+imEsMwTDGiw from downloaded save to _gE1nLNaKMT1jf8aVqjvR4azZQ-Mq like it was named in original save and still the same - game can see save, but can't load it cause it's broken.
Can anyone help me, please?
P.S. sorry for my english

Your english is fine
Ok you only need to rename the BESLES-820441G000001 to BESLES-820421G000001 in both the folder name and inside the folder.
don't rename the gE05KCW8OKnaPSII+imEsMwTDGiw
see what happens.

I've done this. By:
Quote: So next i deleted original save and renamed downloaded folder to BESLES-820421G000001 and done the same with the file inside.
i mean that i renamed folder and file with the same name as folder. I think my description was bit confusing.
Anyway game can see save, but it says that is broken after trying to load it.
Save was downloaded from gamefaqs. It's the one uploaded by bigboss87, 2nd from the bottom (MGS3SUB PAL Slot 1 Gamesave - All unlocked, no EzGun).
Thanks for fast reply.

I have had that happen with gamesaves from gamefaq.
I am not sure on how to fix that. I don't know for sure if that happens when copying and pasting the gamesave or not.
You could try this.
Once you have renamed the Folder and file.
Then open that save again in PS2 Savebuilder but now click on save as a .psu file
Then when using uLe to copy to memory card, choose PSUpaste
See if that fixes it.

Can't do that.
PS2 Save builder can save only *.max, *.pws, *.cbs, *.npo, *.sps, *.md, *.p2m and *.xps
There is no option to save as *.psu
Is there any other website with working PS2 saves?

Hey guys, I pretty much skimmed through this thread and have a question about ps2 save builder and ulaunchelf.
I transferred a save of mine that i was using on an emulator on my laptop since my ps2 was dead for a bit using ps2 save builder onto a USB flash drive.
I then did the whole swap magic and ulaunchelf process (used regular paste, not mcpaste) and was able to put my data into the memory card.
However, when i load the game on my ps2 with swap magic, the game doesn't recognize that i have a save on the ps2 memory card, but the browser screen of the PS2 does show that it is indeed in the card.
can anyone provide some insight?
The game is SD Gundam G Generation Spirits, BISLPS-25832, ps2 SCPH-70012

Using uLe, and FILEBROWSER, check your memory card and make sure the Filename for the game is correct BISLPS-25832
Press L1 for options, choose square I believe to show filenames
Then press Triangle
It should now show the gamesaves as the name.
It should work fine, as long as you copied the entire folder to the memory card and its named properly.
