Im in NA just like you so I know i'm getting the correct saves. I know that I have the correct versions for the games that i have because I checked the save against the version I dl and the slus is 209,46. I'm just gonna play it out again. I am beginning to feel defeated with all this saving and swapping stuff. I'll try later when I dont feel so frustrated. It would've been cool to have those saves working but not all things work all the time i guess.

Ok no problem, I know how ya feel. Probably just something simple but at the time is very annoying.

Hey guys,
I know i maybe a little late about this one but..
I really need some help.
So, here's my problem:
I want my Ps2 to be able to play movies, i know the other forums have solution on this one but, most of it is using cds and usb.
My cd drive is broken, so i cant use that procedure.
Anyone wanna help..i really need some help.
I was wondering if i can put the ulaunchelf in my harddisk,
i have a hard disk 160gb full of game, hitachi. using USB is kinda out of the question, my ps2 is modded with modbo 4.0, and it cant read my USb. (-_-). I'm stuck on this one. Help..

Hi i was wondering how to put saved files from a Pc to Ps2 Memory Card. Then i found this thread and i have been trying to do all this for like 3 hours but i don't get it :(. I have downloaded a saved file that i wanted and did all that stuff but then i had to put ulaunchELF on to a cd. I think i Done it all right but when i put it in my PS2 it says disc cant be read is that why everyone is talking about a chip?? coz i wanted to do this all for freee if i need a chip or that swap magic thing tell me otherwise i will just buy Max Drive :( i really wanted to do this for free but i cant. If i can do it for free can someone plz tell me how and give me Instructions. I have a Slim PS2 and i bought it in May 2006 and I live in Australia tell me if thats got to do with any of it thanks.

Yes you need a modchip or Swap Magic to be able to use the ulaunch cd or ELF files.
There is no free way to copy game save files to the mc.

Ok thank you Smokyrain. I have A Silver Slim Ps2 i brought it in May 2006 and i live in Australia is it possible to still get Max Drive the one with the 16mb usb and the disc and do it? Thanks

Yes as far as I know you can get the Max drive with the 16mb usb.
I think it would be cheaper to have someone install fmcb 1.8 to a mc for you and then use ulaunch.elf to copy game saves as the first post shows.
Just check the FMCB INSTALL SERVICES here

There is a couple people in Australia that install for just the cost of postage of a mc to them and back to you.

Ok thank you i worked it out now the only thing i was wondering whats the difference between a Modchip and A Swapmagic because i was looking at the site u put up before and it said u can make a image of a Elf and system.cnf and put it to a blank disc, But u need a mod chip and other things because sony doesnt let burnt disc work on ps2. Know i no why it said disc cant be read, So i was wondering if i get a modchip i can play burnt games and put saved files from Pc to a Mc?

Yes to play burnt games (PS2 backups) you need either a modchip installed in the PS2, or you can use Swap Magic or fmcb 1.8.
FMCB 1.8 is the cheapest route all around to play backups.
You only need to use the ESR.ELF and patch your ISO images with a disc patcher. YOu can then play your backup.
And like I said if you have no way to install it yourself to the mc, there are trustworthy people who can do it for you.
Once you have that installed you can then launch uLaunch.elf and be able to copy from any usb device to your mc.

Hello!
I have new PS2 Version (USA) SCPH-77001 will swap magic work for it? I have check a few site for swap magic and I don't see any version stating that it'll work for the 77001. Does anyone have the same PS2 Version and swap magic work for them?
Also do I have to buy the combo or can i just buy the disc? Any suggestion? I want to be able to install a save game that I download from gamefaqs.com to my memory card. Thank you in advance for answering^^

Swap Magic works on all PS2 versions right up to the latest 9000x model..
You will need the Swap Tools to block the sensors or the fliptop.

I would say fmcb is better
1. its free
2. you can use the sms player to play your DVD movies or CD-R
3. use uLaunch.elf to copy save game files.
The armax you need to have the media player, which is very hard to find.
It will only play divx on CD-R format, not on DVD
For save game files, its ok but they need to be in .max format

DAN 168, I followed your instructions on using uLaunchELF to copy game save from pc to mc, it turn out ok, but after i load the save game it hung/freezes the game. why is it? btw, i'm playing GT4 euro, i have a moded slim ps2.

While this effort is greatly applauded, it needs more elaboration. It is impossible for non-techy people to follow...need more step by step instructions, pretend you are talking to an idiot (yes!!!) and use plain english (explain tech talk). Thanks...greatly appreciated.

The only elaboration it may need, is that you requires your PS2 to be modded in some manner.
Most who write guides are assuming people know this already, myself included.
Other than that it is very easy to follow once you are able to load uLaunch either by ELF file or by CD or DVD.
