First Welcome, second no need to post twice, if someone has an answer they will post it. You need patience.
Thirdly more info would help. Use CD-R, Verbatim, taiyo yuden, maxell or sony discs.
Or you can burn uLaunch to DVD-R, same brands as above.
How are you booting your disc, with Swap Magic or Modchip.
If you want to burn ulaunch to DVD,just click my name to the left, go to my folder and download my ulaunch 4.12.7z.001 file. Extract it with powerarchiver(also in my folder)and burn it to DVD using imgburn.
Or I have just the ulaunch 4.08 there too, which can be unrared and then burned to DVD using imgburn.

Thank you smoky, more power to you, though I didn't asked the question, all the help is greatly appreciated.
I have (and used) a PS2 slim, swap magic 3.6 dvd/cd, a 1GB Kingstone memory flash, the game save files I needed from gamefaqs, a TDK dvd and used your ulaunch 4.12.7z.001 iso file (I burned it using ISO Decrypter).
Just followed the steps from the 1st post (sans the uLaunch step since I used your iso rather than making it) and that was it! Again, thank you!

Hi, I use a program called LaunchElf v 3.4 (without the "u")
Whenever I go up to mass:/, it just takes FOREVER to load! I left it on for about 5 hours with my 256 MB USB flash which was empty except for the save but it still took forever and didn't even load in the end!!
Does anyone have advice, or is it only uLaunchElf that works? THanks

Not sure why it didn't burn and work for you. Which one did you download?
You could try my version of uLaunch 4.12.
Just burn it to DVD using imgburn or nero at 4x

Just for the record, uLaunchELF is awesome for transferring save games from PC to your PS2 via a USB thumb drive. :P

Hey guys,
I got the ulaunchelf v.4.12CD. Inside, it contains a bin + cue.
Do I just burn the cue onto a CD? (with the bin in the same directory of course)
Basically, I want to avoid doing all the "make notepad file, and SYSTEM.CNF" stuff. This CD file is all ready to go, right?
Sorry for the noob question. thanks for the help!
please help

Sorry, yet another newbie. I'm at that awkward advanced age where technology is moving a little too fast me. :)
All I want to do is transfer a rooster file for NCAA07 Football from my PC to PS2.
Can it be burned to a CD-R and done that way? Or is there an easy/cheap way to transfer it via thumb drive?
THANK YOU in advance!!!

Yes you can copy the save file by CD-R(kind of a waste unless you have a lot of saves) or via a thumb drive, by following the first post in this thread, but you must have your PS2 modded in some manner(either modchip, swapmagic, exploit etc) to be able to use the uLaunch.elf and access your thumbdrive.
Another way to copy saves via thumbdrive is this if you can run a backup copy or original armax.
I have backed up all my saves to pendrive this way.

Forgive me for asking such a simple question when an excellent guide has been posted… but please help me I am kind of stuck :)
Basically what im trying to do here is to transfer a save file from a PC to a PS2...
and i dont have other equipment or tools other than a PC and a PS2.
I am stuck on the step of "How to boot uLaunchELF from CD"
i think i have done everything correctly but all i get when i insert the CD into the PS2 is just a quick flash of "Playstation 2" and after that flash it went to the browser screen (where you can choose beteen memory card / disk)
I have recorded what I done here
So really if anyone could help me that would be great
And for what its worth the PS2 is modchiped
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Edit - all smiles now, I finally managed to copy the save file.. the problem was i didn’t have the "magic"...swap magic that is..
again thanks dan168, smokyrain and everyone who made this thing possible :)
A thank you from an appreciative PS2 gamer thanks again

If you already have ulaunch set up on your ps2 and are able to connect to your ps2 from your pc via ftp client or raid host you should be able to transfer you game saves to the memory card as well. since i was able to ftp other files to my ps2 hdd last nite i will be attempting this when i get off work today. if it is a success i will post a tut on how to do it.

Hi to all of you. I have just one simple qustion. Can you tell me what I need to do or am I doing this right.
First I started this with a download of uLaunchELF. It is an iso file. From all this reading i assume i get this from "fusion" of a dummy system file and elf, am I right?(I don't think I am)
next what burner do i need to use Alchohol 120% or Nero?
When i do this with some miracle when do i plug in the usb?
This is so complex!!!
I would be very happy if someone explained this to me step by step! Hope that this is not a big trouble for u.
Thanx in advance

You can use imgburn to burn the ISO to disc. Its free just google it.
Mostly the disc contains a dummy file, ulaunch.elf and system.cnf file
but I made my own and put many more elf files on it.

Once burned you can load it with your modchip, swapmagic, memor32 etc. and your usb can be plugged in right from the start.
Then if its transferring gamesaves, just follow the first post in this thread.
If you want to learn more about uLaunch 4.12 go here.

hey thanx for replying.
Ok now tell me is this right:
1)I burn a iso file called uLaunchELF with imgburn on 4X
2)I take out the CD and play it
Ok heres what i don't understand how do you mean it play it with your moschip. I have a modchip but it is not like a program to do something with it. I just play pirated games and listen to music. do you mean a modchip like that?
Next, is there any difference between uLaunchELF and LaunchELF?
And what do you mean put many ELFs on it?

Yes just burn the ISO file with imgburn
And yes just load it using your modchip that you play backup games with(don't say pirated games, doesn't sound good)
And no there is no difference between uLaunchelf and Launchelf, they are the same thing.
What I mean by putting many elf files on the ISO, is go to my profile page(click my name to the left), then go to my rapidshare folder, and scroll down to my uLaunchelf4.12.7z001 file and it lists all the elf files I have loaded on the disk.
What that means is if you look at the tutorial for uLaunch you will see that you are able to load other files from either the disk itself, memory card, or a usb device to launch other elf files.
Or transfer them if you wish.

Ok is it my uLaunch4.12 ISO or another ISO you burned?
You need to burn it to a DVD-R if its a DVD ISO, or a CD-R if its a CD Image file.
The PS2 does not generally like CD-RW discs.

Having trouble with my GTA: LCS, SA and VCS game saves.
DL'd them cause my kids robbed me of my memory card and erased them, used the process on the first page of the forum and the only thing that worked was SA and thats not the save I dl'd. THe one I have is 49% but when I check it on the game its only 2.1% :(
The other two LCS and VCS dont even show up.
I tried the method posted on iplayplaystation.com:
STEP ONE
Get uLaunchELF working on your PS2.
STEP TWO - Download PS2 saves
Now the fun bit. Most PS2 game saves available on the internet are in AR Max, Max Drive, CodeBreaker, X-Port, or Sharkport format - but we?re not using any of these products to load the game saves, so the files will need to be converted back to the regular PS2 save game format before the PS2 will recognize them.
STEP THREE - Convert PS2 saves
Once you?ve downloaded a game save, if it?s not already in X-Port or Sharkport format, then open it on your PC using PS2 Save Builder, and save the file as an .xps file.
STEP FOUR - Copy PS2 saves to USB drive
Now open the .xps file using the X-Port/SharkPort Save Converter program, connect your USB flash drive to your PC, and save the output file to the USB flash drive.
STEP FIVE - Transfer PS2 saves from USB to PS2 memory card
Boot up the uLaunchELF disc in your PS2, plug in the flash drive, and copy the new saves to your memory card. That?s it!
But still it didnt work. Can anyone give any insight as to the best way to do this please. Thanx.

I find the method posted on the first page is the best method.
Your only having to copy the whole folder over, instead of having to uncrush as in armax, or whatever methods the other cheat disks use.
So that way it really doesn't matter if the game save is .max, .cbs etc.
You need to make sure the save game from say gamefaqs when extracted is the same name thats on your memory card.
I use Ulaunch to browse to mc0 and see what gamesave name it has before I copy it.
I have had a couple that didn't match up, so I had to rename them myself.

So basically its copying over the existing save? I dont have any saves on the MC so I didnt think there would be any type of conflict. I fixed the issue with VCS by erasing the : for the file name 1: soldier.b
I copied the whole folder but still no luck. I'm gonna try another MC I think I have one around here that I can use. I was doing this on a 32MB MC I think I will try the official Sony 8MB first.
Well it didnt work with that either. THis sux. The details for the SA file says its the best one but I only get 2.14% complete, poor weapons etc but it shows it is 49% when you dl it. :(
Has anyone gotten a game save from gamefaqs working. It worked when I did the hot coffee mod.

No there shouldn't be any conflict if you have a save on it or not. It would just ask to replace the file or overwrite it.
What I should have said I do, when something like that happens as in your case,is I play the game for a bit, make a save.
Then browse the mc0 with uLaunch so I can see what the gamesave name is.
That way I know if its the same as the one I downloaded.
Are your downloaded savegames the same region as the game itself.
The BASLUS_XXX.XX part has to be named the same as your game.
