Use SVCE1044 for the box. You will find this and instructions on how to use it in Eamos at the bottom of my post.

i have got a usb to serial 9pin male and connect that to the null modem cable and select the com port it is attached to and it keeps comming up flash failed anyone got any ideas

i had similar problem with usb connection also found it very slow to download file causing it not to flash properly? in the end had new connection put in computer to bypass usb. so no help to you ,hope scouser can help you.

Well according to my device manager i have 3 ports but gt rom says 4 so try picking all ports one at a time and also make sure your box is plugged in and on standby from an unscrambled channel.

steo tried all the ports and the only one it is recognising is comport 4 and it just keeps saying flash failed anyone got anyother ideas

If someone you know has a pc with an rs232 connector on the back you could use that without your usb converter as com 1.

Hello All,
I have successfully loaded 4.54eE on "TheBox" and scanned and found all channels. My problem is that I can't open my uploaded channel file using SVCE 1044. I get an address error. Where am I going wrong? any ideas or info is appreciated. I also tried opening the file "Dublinchannelfav301207forlatestfirmware4.54ee" from eko.4shared but I get the same error there
Location is Dublin CC is N*L.

magoo have you tried right clicking on my computer then on manage then device manager then ports(com&LPT) click on the cable that was installed with the driver software that should have come with the cable then advanced and then assign it to com 1 2 3 or 4? also after the flash fail sign comes up give it a second as it may change to download complete. if your using vista it may take a few tries or even a restart after you've changed the com port

are you using the loader to upload the cdf to the box?

Hi axxxo,
I have no problem downloading either channel file to "TheBox" I am trying to edit the favourites by opening the file in SVCE but No can do. This was all OK in the previous version 4.50eE. ideas??

use gt rom and pick channel dump, browse it and press download.

sorry i thought you were having trouble uploading the file to the box, i dont have a box to hand so i cant test it nor have i ever used a cdf, never had the need,alphabetic is fine for me,try a factory reset or reflash is all i can say.

Thanks axxxo and steo2k8. Maybe someone could try opening the file they create by uploading their channels -or - "Dublinchannelfav301207forlatestfirmware4.54ee" from eko.4shared using SVCE 1.0.4.4 and confirm that I am not doing something wrong.

hi axxxo should i change the speed settings or leave them with the default. In the device manager i can see all the com ports however it says com3 and five are in use can you shed any light on this one even though the usb to serial adapter is not plugged in

Many other items present themselves as Ports such as some networking devices & bluetooth devices so that would be normal.
Even though ports are being reported as being "in use" you can still change the port number of your USB adapter to one needed by the box until you update the box. Windows will warn you about it but proceed anyway.
Try another port to see if you can communicate with the box successfully.

you can leave the baud rate at default setting also, tried changing it myself as the flash for a starview is very slow on the laptop but doesnt make a difference

Depends are you MMDS or true cable? Symbol rate is 6875, AFAIK some areas have been upgraded to digital but others remain analogue.

hi can anyone help me i been buying the starview 3 from a company in england with no problems today i got a new one flashed it with 6.01e-E march 07 went to scan the box only 24 transponders came up but no stations were found never happened b4 any ideas
