anyone about! just wondering what to flash the box with a friend asked me to it and have never done the box before so want to make sure i use correct firmware, he's on N*L dublin, and it has firmware 4.00e on it at the moment .

flynn film4 on N*L galway is 315.000 so maybe that one will work for you I'm on N*L dublin and i have film4 on 355.500 what ferg posted, hope it helps

if its the box starview2 there is no need to flash it antoinette,it must be starview one it will say starview on it,first make sure you have a genuine and not a clone, 18 vents = clone
25 vents = genuine
13 vents = 1st generation
vents are the slits on the top of the box from top to bottom
left scart = Clone
Right scart= Genuine,the firmware is in eamos library in the starview folder crypstar v1.4 core 257 for clones(it will work on genuine also)the crypstarv1.4genuine only for genuine boxes note do not put genuine firmware on a clone box.

mine was 315.000 and been gone the last few days tried fergus one and no joy. and with reguards your question my box firmware is the 4.50 one and no problems with it

according to sc0ucer they changed the tps down in waterford if you want you can do a factory reset and scan again and it should get back what your missing.

you need to rescan your box so to find it
anto put v4.54 on the box 2 with logo file as well

karl I have the starview 1 myself and it says satrview on the front and this other one i got to flash has the box on it so i presume its the starview 2 and its just saying data is been updated and thats why he asked me to flash it any ideas

are you sure it has 4.00eE on it as thats for starview ones ,if it has 450 all you need to do is press menu 1570 and press ok on the set default key go to sly movies and it will autoupdate

Yeah think so there was no need to change the firmware if it was the box try reflashing with 450 in the box firmware folder,have to go out for a bit maybe fergus or someone is around if you have any probs flashing it.

anto you need to also use the logo file when flashing the v4.54 it is the background file and you need that should be all together in the 1 folder with the v4.54 ok

Ferg no just put on 4.54 seems to be working fine tried to put on logo file but kept getting message saying error model name does not correct, any help mind you the box is working fine and rolled over the codes.

Karl 454 and it handled the code change and is working perfect at the moment just a bit worried about this logo thing, I put 4.54 on because i read back a few pages and read that 450 can be a little bit faulty in the epg so thats the only reason for my choice.

Hi Antoinette, here is the correct procedure for flashing The Box with versions above 4.50 and 4.51, hope it clarifies things for you.
Seen a few posts with people having problems when flashing Starview 2 The Box with firmware versions over 4.50 Ireland and 4.51 UK, below is the correct procedure and you must load 2 bin files in the correct order if you want to upgrade :-
As regards the 4.52,53,54, using GTRom 4.00 is no good, that's where people are going wrong - this is the procedure :- From V4.50/51 you must - Use the New Improved GTrom Loader Ver 4.03 for example >>>>>>>
First flash thebox_H20070814_452eE_api.bin to your box with the new GTRom.4.3
(select as App file only)
Then flash thebox_logobg.bin to your box using the new GTRom.4.3
(select Background Data File)
Version 4.53 For UK
If you are upgrading from 4.51 or earlier you must flash 4.53 first. then flash the logo file. If you already have the 4.52 on just flash the 4.53 straight on, no need for the logo file, you must use the 4.3 loader.
Version 4.54 for UK & Ireland
If you are upgrading from 4.51 or earlier then flash 4.54 first then afterwards flash the logo file. If you already have 4.52 on or later then just flash the 4.54 straight on without it. You must use the new Loader Software GTRom Ver.4.3
