yes you need a modchip or swap magic to be able to play the snes station emulator for the ps2.

For the genesis emulator I can just have roms on my memory card. Is there a snes emulator where I can do the same? I dont want to burn a dvd or CD just for a rom or two.

Apparently it's not possible. I heard the console emulating it has to be 8x more powerful than the console to emulate..

I'd have to agree, it seems like they have to skip a generation to work. If you think about it, it's like they're running two programs at once. I do hope the N64 emu works out for the PSP though, I might get a little more use out of it.

The confusing thing is though, PS2 can emulate PSX games perfectly, yet it cannot emulate the N64? Probably because the PS2 was specially designed to play PSX games..

I'd say it's something like that, or the software is similar enough to be done easily. Maybe that's why the manufacturers make a big deal out of backwards compatibility in their future consoles.

The whole thing about the PS2 is it basically doesn't emulate the PSX. It has hardware very similar to the PSXs in it, as well as PS2 hardware. There are a few fixes it applies, and it can apply that basic anti-aliasing option it has. But it's not emulating the PSX, it's not powerful enough to do so. The PS3 however...

Q4i, there is an N64 emulator for the PSP, it can be downloaded from some sites but im not sure...actually i cant be bothered to look for it because i dont have a PSP, boo hoo! But there is an N64 emulator for the PSP.
Sohan, im not ENTIRELY sure but i dont think there are proper emulators for the PS2, apparently programmers found the ps2 hardware "tricky to emulate" or something like that. Oh well....

Yeah, I know about the N64 emu for the PSP, I think there might actually be two out now. The problem is that when I tried it, it was a little buggy. I just hope the kinks get worked out.

My information may be a tad unreliable because i havent seen the article for quite a bit, but i remember it saying that it had an N64 emulator not using homebrew systems or something like that and it was more reliable than the homebrew version. sorry if this question has already been answered but is there any news about the gba emulator for the ps2.
