I heard that the Version 7 PS2 does a double TOC check. Wasent that what the CDLOADER was suposed to fix?

I have a versin 5 but I fixed it with a Flip Top Cover because the tray will not open corrrectly because of a faild neo 2.5 mod chip instalation so I can't test it out since you have to load up by opening the tray.

Yes, cdloader is supposed to get past the double TOC checks, but the guys over at http://www.ps2ownz.com are working on ZoneLoader (new version of swap magic) that'll work for the PS2 v7 as well and will also get past the double TOC checks!! :)

I heard they are comming out with a version 3.0 of the Swap Magic Discs, is that the ZoneLoader or is the ZoneLoader a different program? Is it a boot disc or just a CDR like the cdloader that you have to use the Swap Magic to boot it with?

From what I understand, Zoneloader is a 'replacement' for Swap Magic...kinda like a Swap Magic 2.5, although I could be mistaken, it very well may be Swap Magic 3...who knows?

Well sombody has already made a nockoff of the Flip Top Cover calling it the Magic Cover so I guess they could do the same thing with the Swap Magic Discs. I don't think Thien has botherd pattening the Flip Top Cover and probably the Swap Magic Discs are not Copyrighted either since the nature of them being for mod products and all. Maybe they can't because of that. But I am posotive about the Swap Magic Authors comming out with a Version 3.0 somtime Mid Summer and that is right now. It is supposed to fix the Harry Potter problem and some others and also support PSX games now and I think that double TOC check and support for RIP's and some other stuff I can't remember. But I have bee n in contact with some venders in China and that is what they told me so far.

Are there any games out there that I won't be able to play with a flip top, swap magic, and a no-solder mod? Right now I've got the flip top and swap magic, but I've heard alot of people talking about games such as Splinter Cell (backup copy) that they haven't been able to play.

has a page that list some games that do not work with the Swap Magic Disc's 2.0. When they come out with the 3.0, it is supposed to fix some of the problems. Go to this link for the list:

Forgive me for asking such a stupid question when the answers probably somewhere in this thread, it's just a little long.

I lack the technology for even making back-ups (probably the smarts too), but I am very interested in the ability to play imports on my US PS2. Will getting a flip top cover and swap disc allow me to do so?

If so, can someone please PM me a site where I can get those two items? I like the import selection of games for PS2 best but it's probably the least import friendly of the systems (it's nice with the GCN just needing freeloader).

its been asked many times.

swap magic WILL NOT play any imports.

I believe you need gameshark to play imports but i have never tried before.

so in other words....dont take my word for it

my question is how many imports have you tried. Yes, there are a few imports out there that the swap magic disc can't play but, all the import that i have worked on my v7 ps2 with no solder mod and swap magic disc.

the original imports that have worked are:

ddrmax2
ddrmax 6th mix
ddr 5th mix
tekken 4

For people that have no solder mod and swap magic disc these original imports will surely work on your no solder mod with swap magic disc.

OK, I need some help here. After studying the subject of "modding" I conclude that the best solution for me is to buy a flip top/swap magic 2 combo. However, I own a PAL V7 PS2 and now want to make sure I will be able to play NTSC backups (also 650+ CDr) with the above solution. Is that the case?

You all seem to know just about everything so maybe someone can help me?

Tnx

i honestly dont know if you can play NTSC on a PAL ps2. I mean you can order the NTSC swap discs and then it may work for you but i have never tried and really have no way of testing that either :( sry

ive heard people do, theres a magnet in there so it should keep shut for you while vertical but i personally dont recommend it.
I think its too easy to scratch your disks whether they are originals or backups.
Only only takes once for them to slip out or come off the spinner to ruin them. :/
