okay, one last question and I'll stop being a pest....NOT!! Just kidding! Anyhow, has anyone purchased their fliptop cover from modchipkits.com? If not, are there any other places I could purchase one? If you HAVE purchased from modchipkits, how is their service?

i have never seen or heard of a problem like that...
very weird
i use nero 5.10.xafafdfsf whatever
burn at 2.4 and always work
use fuji +R's here
i dont have any other suggestions really....very weird

wulfie i ordered my flip-top from modchipkits.com about a week 1/2 ago and got it today. very good service. you can try a different site but i like modchipkits.com.

can anyone help i fitted a flip top lid today and when I put cd in the the cd tray and press start the cd is somehow spinning off when i lift the flip top lid up the cd has slipped off so i pressed reset with the lid still up to see if the cd spins off and it did what have done wrong i checked all screws and it all seems secure

if the top is open, the disc should spin off!
that white piece that sits inside the fliptop holds the CD or DVD in place.
as to why it spins off when closed....is the whitepiece in the fliptop correctly?

thanks for your reply yes i looked on instruction page to see if i had it right way on
one of the times i was testing the cd with the lid down when i opened it up the magnet had spun on the cd do you think this is the prob i put it back in the centre but the cd still spins off with the lid down

sounds like you got one of those oddball sized white magnet hubs. are you sure you got the correct cover for your version of PS2? i think the older ones were smaller than the newer ones.

yes i have the right cover fits perfect the white hub fits loose i will try again and stick the white hub to the lid with blue tack and see if that works

got it working but the only way so far is to put the white hub on the cd by hand
if i put it in the lid cd still spins of
i must be doing some thing wrong
i will keep having a go

Ok, i have read most of the pages and i have Nero v5, the new sony dvd+-R the one that does it all, i have just ordered my flip top and swap disk thanks to all these msg's. Any way i have all the EA games and i dont want to mess them up, plz tell me these work with the Swap MAgic disk and the Fliptop...please fill me in on EA games

well to make a back up use nero
copy image burn image
done.
ea games are the same as any other game
no patches needed with swap magic

hey i tried to backup a psx game(nhl faceoff 2001) on crappy 80 min media with record now (not max) and booted it with a gameshark. it seemed to go fine until i was chosing teams to play with when all of a sudden a red circle with a line through it showed up with a bunch of liitle white lines all over the place. what the he*l does that mean?

yes people sorry for the caps its this horrible wireless keyboard it always gos back to caps i sometimes for get sorry if i gave neone an headache.
check out my problme if you can, swap magic 2.0 pnp chip or swap lid how do you get splinter cell to work.

ok, got the flip top installed, one problem, is the ejact tray supposed to open when u hit the button, mine doenst do it on its on , it like its hung on something, it opens on its own if i push it out jsut a lil....help me b 4 i mess it up plz

back the screws that hold the cover out a bit. sounds like you got something in a bind. you could also eject the tray with the cover off too see if the cover is the cause or not.

ps2backup, swap magic 2 and flip top will not play Splinter Cell. I don't think a pnp chip and swap magic 2 will either as we have come to a conclusion that the problem is with the swap magic 2 disc, not the flip top. Hopefully a new version of the discs will come out... or there is supposed to be a new breed of boot discs on the way .... so we'll see if those work. stay tuned... and good luck.

What Chips preferable non solder, play the splinter cell backups?
What chips recommended i have heard that the messia 2 is the best far better than the magic 3.1 due to fact it plays everyting?
suggestions + tips welcome as i wish to play these game using backups but cant due to fcat they don't run on the swap magic discs?
one last thing anyone knows who makes the swap magic discs? when the new sets due out or a new set of ps2 bootdiscs?

Hey, does it ever happen to yuo guys that sometimes your burned games don't work after playing a real game? I keep getting this a lot, sometimes there's a blue border for my burned games and it'll let me play, then sometimes I'll get pink on the same game. Help?!

Luiginski, most likely your not putting the backup in correctly. Make sure it's under the lip on the left side. This should fix your problem.
