I might wait around for awhile. Is 300-500 confirmed, or just guessing? Is it going to be a lot of versions like the PS2 too? Damn, if that's the case then I would definitely wait. Seriously though, the newly designed PS3 is a bit big, yet very impressive at the same time.

It's propably more expensive than your house and car combined. Same goes with xbox 360. And games are going to be expensive too. Since games have better graphics, physics etc. it's going to be much more expensive to develop them. I guess about 10$-20$ (or euros) more than games on xbox and ps2.

E3 2005: PS3 Price Revealed?
One of the most expensive consoles ever created, according to Japanese reports.
by Matt Casamassina
May 17, 2005 - According a an article published in the May 17th edition of Japan's Mainichi Shimbun, the PlayStation 3 could be one of the most expensive mass-market videogame consoles ever created. Officials from Sony apparently told the newspaper that PlayStation 3s would sell in Japan for "less than 50,000 yen each." That translates to about $465 US dollars.
Sony unveiled its next-generation console at the Electronics Entertainment Expo 2005. The beast of a machine utilizes the powerful Cell processor, a custom-designed graphics chip by Nvidia, and 512MBs of RAM for a quantum leap in performance. The system will also be the first-ever to support high-def movie-playback out of the box, taking advantage of the upcoming Blu-ray Disc format.
Sony claims that PS3 will be roughly 35 times more powerful than PS2. If Mainichi Shimbun is correct, gamers will be asked to pay a hefty price for the high-end functionality.
IGN was unable to validate this news with Sony officials. Stay tuned for more as the story breaks.

Actually, X360 is not gonna cost nearly as much as PS3. They're aiming for a consumer friendly price. So probably around 300$ US.

BTW, what do you think about the size of PS3. That mammoth beast is got to be the ugliest console yet.

i wouldnt say it's the ugliest.but i'm not too impress with it.
i was hoping it to be as good as the slim ps2. i actually think it looks better than xbox 360, that just looks like an old car steoreo to me. Revolution's design is nice, simple, and rather sexy

believe it or not. . .they may be coming out with 2 different editions. . .on of those editions has so much more options on it on the site i saw it they called it the "all home edition" and it would range around 750 and then the normal one that would be around 500. . .seriously, if they try to make this thing too perfect and good and dreamlike to where it jacks it up hundreds of dollars, there not gonna make a cent off of it.

Actually There is going to be two Versions of the PS3. One will be the launch one and the other one will come roughly about 1-2 months after. The second is much better and the price range what I have see in the 1st=399-499 2nd=599-699. I would get the Second if you want to do more stuff.

I want realistic boobs in games that come in different sizes. The Ps3 can deliver that and more. Like bouncy-ness and 3-d shading.

just read this on a decent website, note they are not my words but someone elses :)
Quote: According to the May 17 article, Sony officials told the paper that the PS3 will go on sale in Japan with a launch price of "less than 50,000 yen" - approximately $465 or £255 at current exchange rates.
But European consumers have traditionally paid more for their consoles than their Japanese and North American counterparts, meaning that if history repeats itself the PS3 could go on sale here at upwards of £400 - making it into one of the most expensive consoles to be launched in the UK in recent years.

I don't know about you guys but all I know is I'm going to wait about a year before I buy any of them. I mean the ps3 and x360 are proobably going to cost about 1800 - 3000TT!
I would have to see who has the better games, graphics and design elements before I pick one up.
I would hate to buy one as soon as it comes out and then 3 months later I hear there's a newer, better version.

I never buy 1st generation hardware. I always wait for 3rd or 4th generation. By then all major bugs should have been phased out (not to mention price decline as well.)
