I ment the video cards. The 360 video card (alone)is worth more than blueray. But it doesnt add another 300$.
I think i've said that to many time.
Now 360 is goin to come with a hdplayer, but you will see, price will increase a bit.

you see, even if half of the stuff koko said is true, it wouldnt happen.
A- ebay and consumer prices are NOT the prices that major comapnies that MAKE THEIR
OWN stuff, (bluray, for instance)! take all of the listed prices, and divide by 2 or 3 & you
have a real idea.
B- Microsoft is losing $126(US, not canadian ppl) on 360's why wont sony also to lower
prices???(http://www.joystiq.com/2005/12/28/xbox-360-costs-715-to-make)
Espicially since bluray games would be nigh impossible to copy / make, at first (note:i do
not do this, but it is relatively common), Sony will make more money than you think WHEN
(not if) their successful launch.
I have preordered a ps3 in DE where I live. no regrets
I still say, though, that the ONLY reliable source doesnt exist yet. wait and stop
consiprising about prices.
*Espically If You Have No Clue What You're Talking About*
why does everyone around here have to be senseless?

i was wondering for the life of me what nigh ment. and so ive been watching/listening to catdog in the backround because there is nothing on. cat said something was nigh and dog was all "what???" and cat said "oh it means near"
i find it ironic, so i diecided to tell you. everyting for about a week has releated to everything else for me... its like a superpower :P
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

An interesting article on pricing speculations of PS3:
http://money.cnn.com/2006/01/11/commentary/game_over/column_gamin...
I'm coming around to the idea that the PS3 will probably not cost $700, but at this point I will maintain that the premium PS3 will not cost less than $500.
That was an interesting afterdawn article about Microsoft being open to bending to Blu-ray dominance and offering peripheral support for the xbox360.
http://www.afterdawn.com/news/archive/7208.cfm
Doesn't sound like Microsoft is a strong ally for the HD-DVD camp. I have a feeling HD-DVD vs Blu-ray will be clearly decided within a month after PS3 launch. The people who buy PS3s are the ones who own HD-TVs are the ones who are going to buy high-def movie disks. Sales for movies released in Blu-ray are going to just be several times greater than those released in HD-DVD. Sony learned its lesson in the Betamax vs VHS war (Sony got burned on its Betamax while JVC won with VHS)

Sony ps3 is'nt comming in a premium package
opeople will say they are copying xbox360
just how xbox360 wasnt called the xbox2.
Ps3 will probably sell for 400-500$.
the blueray probably adding 100$ to the xbox360, which would make ps3's price. Nothing more

betamax was better. it had a bit igher quality, was more compact, and was very durable. you could chuck one at a wall and almost know it woould survive.

yes you can add a Hd drive and say that the xbox 360 is now the same price but at least you get the choice of weather you want to buy it or not just like the wireless adapter.

Blueray is still better.
And nope, 360 doesnt come with the HD drive, you'll have to buy it yourself.
Yes, i mean seperetly.
And not all games will be HD.
So ps3 still has the advantage.

BTW, the HD acronym is becoming problematic. HD = high definition (TV), high density (DVD), hard drive. HDTV, HD-DVD, work well, but I don't think HD is enough for hard drive.

Thanks for adding those links to this thread.
I don't expect that the Devstation developers show is going to answer any of the release date or pricing questions that we have. I expect this to be a fairly technical and esoteric show. It will however, be an important moment for Sony to show that they actually have functional development kits, contrary to recent and somewhat suspect reports: http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/ps3/sony-insider-deleted-for-ps3-com...

Do you guys know if a hardrive will be coming with the Ps3. What I've read and heard there won't be a hard drive, but instead they would use some sort of memory sticks, similar to PSP. They would release a 80 gig hardrive later on after the launch (prolly around 6 months) but it would only be for media storage such as movies, pictures, mp3's and so on.
So that would pretty much eliminate the need for packages ( core, Premium). The only MAIN difference between 360 core and premium is the hardrive which Ps3 will lack. So why would they make 2 seprerate packages?
Like i said this is the info I found on several sites and just wondering what you guys would think about it if it were true.

My opinion is this.....Sure, Blu-ray players may be extremely expensive but they will not be manufactured in such a large quanity immediately as the ps3. Meaning that the more parts you order at one time, the price of each piece goes down. That being said, the market for the ps3 is much larger than the market of the stand-alone Blu-ray player. Simple supply and demand principles.
Also, it may cost only $100 to manufacture a Blu-ray player like you said but you have to remember that you are also paying for the idea and development process.

It is obvious to me the the PS3 is experiencing some type of problems because sony has yet to release any new information about it. Makes me glad that I have a 360 to hold me over.

they did this last time. they toyed with the information, but they had their reasons and they were not due to problems. if they release too much now m$ will pounce on it, trying to beat them.
