anyway moving along, do u guys think that the bluray will just destroy hddvd in japan? HD-DVD is made by toshiba so u can't say it's the location of the companies, but when sony released the ps2 stores used them only for dvd players i think we could see that again with bluray

no the director i meant that takashi miike makes quentin terrintino films look like telletubies. for ichi the killer in canada they gave the audience mandatory puke bags. they might make ichi the killer or audition on bluray because those movies r big in japan.
btw, why would i care if u were ever banned i could care less?

The point that i was making was that as much as you think the $499 ps3 is going to suck, overall gameplay/display is going to be similar. btw no, you did not have to insult my intelligance with your lovely analog/digital source explanation. even my niece can tell me that the picture in my living room is far better than her tv at home. This is why in my initial reply i said "core doesn't "suck," it just won't fulfill your wants." someone buying the cheaper model probably does not have all the latest and greatest in the audio/visual realm, and to just come out and say it "sucks" is narrow minded...it is still going to look GOOD!

i hope you are kidding. so your telling me those who have the ability to shell out ATLEAST $2500+ for the ps3, couple games, and an HDTV, cannot afford or find a way to run a cable to their living room without having to lay it across their carpet???....and that is supposed to "directly effect gamers." if anything i'd expect some lag/delays effecting gamers from going wireless...sooo sad.
FYI, you are a senior member and thus people will tend to respect, mimic, and listen to what you have to offer. with that said there comes a responibility of setting the right example for everyone else. i love how you finally edited out your other post "nah nah nah....hade shut up." not exactly the kind of response and posts im sure AD is looking for, but hey when you post 100's of petty/useless replys to become a 'senior member'...what else would i expect...

@ hade what i do is put the cables underneath my carpet, and the reaso why i was up so late is cause i am on new medication that makes me very tired for the first week so i slept all day and stayed up in the night
besides with a wireless connection only people that have bad connections will really get lag and if it does get to laggy people can always use an eithernet cable

@hade .I did edit those posts before you replied because I thought about it and said to myself I shouldn't do that, plus I didn't care after awhile anyways.
I already said it "sucks" for me and I don't speak for anyone else.
You have a fair point about the wifi but I would still rather have wifi and many others will too.
I didn't post just to become a senior member. I post on many other forums and more so than this ps3 one.I really don't think senior members are more respected or anything but when you become one I guess you'll see that your still just hade and people really don't care about your status hell I don't even care that I'm a senior member it's not something I asked for they just gave it to me.I never claimed to know everything either but everyone always questions me so why can't I question them once in a while.

No but seriously...I haven't seen either because there so new the content available is like maybe 20 movies.But pc mag has the cash to do the proper tests so I beleive it.Any word from pc mag on bluray?
They slam bluray quit abit in the bluray and hddvd forums saying it's blurry and that HD-DVD is superior.Not all, but most of em.Like I said I dunno.

I'm not sure what that's about(lexz post) everyone knows japan gets most technology first before anyone.I can't see why they wouldn't have hd dvd unless it becomes obsolete due to bluray.

The core system is for someone who dont care about online games & extra content.Also someone who like to just pickup the game and just play every once and a while.The core is not for your diehard gamer and also i read that you will not be able to upgrade this version.

i stand corrected...the actual score was 2.5/5.0 (not that it really changes much). the model is the Toshiba HD-A1. one of the highs was the HD DVD menu system which was "outstanding." they also went on to say a "gorgeously photographed scene" like that in the beginning of Goodfellas "is a truly enveloping experience."
some of a drawbacks were the fact that this player only goes up to 1080i output, loss of detail and "jaggies" in 720p video, and lack of a backlight for the remote.
another interesting part was that the player offers an Ethernet jack, and is said to be able to (although not currently available) download upgrades (firmware) and even online content for titles.
there were not any reviews for Blu-ray players, only a comparison chart between the two formats. personally i am holding off till the release of the PS3. i'll probably pick up a couple titles and test them out before i buy a stand-alone unit. lastly they did mention that on montitors 42" on up, is when this unit really "shines." this all came from PC Magazine July 2006, page 40,41....im sure any1 could check it out at their local Borders/Barnes&Noble...

Wow for me that's a huge con.Personally I would be getting it for the high quality picture for the most part.
Also I heard about that upgradable thing.I guess both bluray and hd dvd have that.I like that Idea if it will benefit us with new content and other freebies and make the product more stable.
I don't think I'll be able to afford both the stand alone and the ps3 so I'll probably just get a ps3.Bluray has been released and best buy has movies for sale so you might get that review on BD soon.
