a list of files you need (keep the filenames in caps):
- ULAUNCHELF.ELF
- SYSTEM.CNF
you create SYSTEM.CNF with notepad (just save it as .CNF instead of .txt), and inside the file you have (everything in bold):
BOOT2 = cdrom0:\ULAUNCHELF.ELF;1
VER = 1.00
VMODE = PAL/NTSC
swap magic lets you boot backup/homebrews (in this case, uLaunchELF)

depends on where you are, have a search on the internet's probably the best way. Of course you could get sharkport, but i think swap magic is a lot better, as it lets you play backups as well as copying files to/from the PC.
also depending on what version your PS2 is, you either need a slidecard or fliptop (for the old PS2), or a set of magic switches (for the slim PS2).. have a look on http://www.swapmagic3.com/ for more info

You need to copy files inside the folder to the CD NOT the folder itself

@Kasmember
no.. looking at your pic, the system.cnf is in the base directory, but ulaunchelf.elf is in a folder, you need both of them in the base directory
@Starsky9
Yep that will work :)

OK all you have to do is go to this link http://sms.ps2-scene.org/eng/cdimage.htm and at the top of the page there are two links, one for PAL and one for NTSC, download the one you want, extract the files and youll have a bin image that you can burn to CD and its ready to go in your ps2, all the work is done for you. Includes SMS media player.

Thanks for the tutorial dan168, I now have a complete game save with every thing unlocked for Black on my memory card!

go to that link and click on PAL if you use PAL or NTSC if you use NTSC, what you download from there is ulaunelf and sms player in one.
Youll get a zipped folder or rar file after downloading, right click it and select extract here. Now you have a bin and cue file, burn the bin image to CD and it boots with swap magic no prob, Press 0 to enter the file browser, follow dans guide from there.
edit> when you go to that page you can ignore everything below the pal/ntsc links, Thats only for people who want to compile there own CD with newer versions and there own content.

No you dont need anything else, just the bin image you downloaded and a blank CD to put it on, a memory stick for your saves(I use my mp3 player) and swap magic or modchip to boot the CD.
