I also tried with ANYDVD and it didn't work. It ripped, but then when I try to open it in shrink, it comes up with a lot of green screens and then crashes.
Can you post how you copied this please? Thanks.

winnipoo,
You might try the free trial offer for AnyDVD and rip the DVD(right click the fox head in the taskbar) to the HD. It does work w/ region 1 disks. The trial offer is for 21 days and it is fully functional

I tried both ways and it worked. Anydvd (bought it) burnt a copy so I tried Dvd fabhd platinum (bought it) and it worked also. Anydvd in the background with shrink. Or, Dvdfab then Vob then shrink. Worked great both ways.
Learning never stops.

For my first post, I would like to say that I was able to make a backup of Rush Hour 3.
1. First I ripped it to my HD using AnyDVD.
2. I then processed it with FixVTS.
3. Then I used MenuShrink.
4. Next I encoded and shrunk to a ISO file using DVD Shrink.
5. Finally, I use Imgburn to burn it to a DVD+r disk.
I just check the disk in my DVD player (RCA DVR) and it plays fine.
Hope this helps,
Vulcan94

winnipoo,
The AnyDVD ripper will rip the DVD to the HD as that is the only way to do it as that is how I did my region 1 Disk. DVDFAB HD had a problem w/ the movie as it has been reported freezing at 86%.
If AnyDVD freezes then you might have a bad mastering press and you need to return it for a better copy

I didn't spend time analyzing this DVD, however, it shows all the signs of some weird sort of structure protection. I couldn't even get the DVD ROM to recognize it - had to rip and backup using the DVD writer.
Lots a luck with this one trying to back it up ...
I backed up this title with ease.
For the record, I didn't see 4 main titles. But there are two (full and wide). If you use VOBB, just blank the Full screen (or wide, if you don't like wide) and you'll have a single layer disc. No compression needed! Disc 1, obviously.
Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie

I was able to backup this movie with DVDFAB PLATINUM 4.0.2.0 Beta version. I started DVDFAB, set to main movie mode, loaded the movie. The purple progress bar appeared. Restarted several times until pathplayer took over and broke through the encryption. The movie then loaded in the program window. Good luck!
Make sure your burner firmware is updated
Use Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden media.

You will need AnyDVD 6.3.0.0 or better CloneDVD 2.9.1.2 This worked for me. Remember, it's the same type encryption found on "Hairspray" you'll need the latest in updated decrypting software. Hey I still keep the the old stuff around too, They don't always work with newer encryptions so sometimes you gotta break down and purcha$e a key with SlySoft.:P

Hi
I have been reading your messages on how to back up Rush Hour 3.
The software that I will be using will be DVD shrink the latest version and AnyDVD the latest version.
To burn it I will use DVD Decrypter.
Will it work.

Use the lastest version of AnyDVD and rip the DVD(using the AnyDVD ripper function) to the HD. Then use Shrink to process the DVD files that you ripped to the HD.

The newest beta versions of DvdFab Hd Decrypter just came out with Rush Hour 3 as part of the need for the update. That should take care of it.

DvdDecypter would burn. But that program hasn't been updated in years. Using DvdFab Hd will rip the movie to your HDD then you can transcode and burn utilizing DvdShrink and ImgBurn.
Here's a guide if you need it.

Just download DVDfab simple. Download AnyDVD. Run DVDfab and copy movie to HD. Run Anydvd. And burn file to disc with DVD shrink. Burn't perfect and has both full screen , and wide screen options on one disc. Plays perfect on my stand alone player on my TV.

you don't need to use BOTH dvdfab decrypter and anydvd both programs do the same thing (remove the protection)
