I'm not gay or anything, but I just want everyone to know that I love you all. The people on here have helped me so much. It's awesome. Thanks. I did the trial of anydvd and it worked. Everyone know, when War comes out, you pretty much have to use anydvd. Try it out first, by all means, to see if you like it. I guarantee you will.
Thanks ZoSoIV!

Ok so what you need to do is download dvd shrink the latest version..then you will need two more programs..NOTE THEY ARE ALL FREE
then you download dvd fab hdd decrypter and lastly img burn.
you need to decrypt the whole movie using dvd fab hdd decrypter.
after you complete that step you will need to open that same img file in img burn. but follow these instructions
open img burn..
under "MODE" on the top of the window selext build
you will go to open file and then open the folder that you just decrypted aka the movie...
after that you can hit the next or the icon wit ht the hard drive to a file button on the bottom of the window
now you should be able to build the iso make sure you name it and know where to find it
now you will open dvd shrink and then under "file" you will select "open disc image" you will now select the iso and it should work...
any questions feel free to repy

i had no problem after coming here and reading this thread the other day (well got to page 2). i d/l and installed anydvd (took a little bit to figure out), then i used dvd shrink (as normal), and that was it. although the 1st time, i forgot to leave anydvd running in the background while using dvd shrink. i don't know why some people had to run fix vts, or vob blanker, but to each his/her own. happy holidays all!! :P

For my first post, I would like to say that I was able to make a backup of Rush Hour 3.

1. First I ripped it to my HD using AnyDVD.

2. I then processed it with FixVTS.

3. Then I used MenuShrink.

4. Next I encoded and shrunk to a ISO file using DVD Shrink.

5. Finally, I use Imgburn to burn it to a DVD+r disk.
i didnt really know how to use menushrink, im still new as well, i just clicked the first file and hit process for that step and it came out fine, the menu is a little weird but it works.....
Boosbaby,

I'm glad that I was able to help you. With the help of the long time members here maybe us newbies can figure this stuff out.

I purchased Any DVD long ago and it's well worth the cash. I'm using the latest update (6.3.0.3), compress with Shrink and then backup with Nero. The combo always works (countless backups done) and was seemingly able to backup RH3 without a problem but..............
During playback it's all good until the middle of the movie when it begins to stop and start which is not acceptable for viewing. Has anyone else actually watched the entire playback and found this problem? If not, check your copies and see if all is as it seems. Does anyone have a solution? I tried 3 times and each one is the same as the 1st. Suggestions anyone?

Sorry I didn't make it clear but, yes, that's what I mean with the "movie only" statement.

Thanks but that's not the problem. Any DVD ripped it too. Did you watch the entire playback? If not, you may have the same problem and not know it.

how much compression do you have (when you used shrink)? i didn't have a problem at all, and have watched it all. you didn't say if you got just the movie (either wide screen, or full screen), or the titles, and all.

I always back up the entire disc (wide and full and all other options) except the Spanish & French languages. I can't say for sure what the comp. rate was but I'm going to say it was in the 56-58% range to my recollection. It shouldn't have been an issue based on the infinite number of others I've backed up in that same (or slightly less) range. FYI: I always burn at 2.4x - 4.0X on 8X or better quality media to assure a solid copy. I've seen poor copies from others who max the speed out so I keep it modest. I'm more interested in a quality backup than saving a few minutes. Now, that being said, it could just be one of those flukey times when this particular title calls for something different than I've seen to date. You can never say never. I guess I'll try it w/o the full screen option later to see if less compression helps.
Thanks for the reply!

lol, i've always had problems with anymore than @70-75% compression, although i don't burn at a slower rate as you stated. anymore compression than that, then i have/had massive problems. i was going to say (earlier), can you play back your copy (on your h/d) without errors, either with shrink, or your player (like powerdvd)? at least that would tell you if you got a bad rip. g/l

Anyone who backed up Rush Hour 3 or Shoot em up should watch the backed up copy. Everything was fine until chapter 4, the sound started messing up and the video looked like it was going in 2x speed.
This happened with both movies. (both are from New Line)
I used anydvd 6.3.0.3, dvd shrink and burned with dvd decrypter.
I tried the same programs on my laptop and the same thing happened.
It was okay until chapter 4 (15 minutes into the movie.)
Can someone check their back up and tell me if the same thing happened to them?
I'm going to try rip it for me next.

It does need to be compressed if you copy the full disc (unless you go dual layer). I really don't believe that compression is the problem here. To answer the question that iamnobody asked earlier, the comp. rate was 67%. I've gone down to just over 50% and never had a problem.

This is exactly what I experienced though I'm not sure what chapter it first occurred. Please let me know if you find a solution that works.

I'll try clone on the 1st widescreen (5.1 I assume). I bought clone when I bought Any DVD but kept using shrink since I never had a reason not to and I was familiar with it. I may need to run a tutorial for clone before I use it. Thanks for the advice!
