Heres a pic of the multimeter for $7. I know my technical stuff, but nothing in the means of electricity. The only AC/DC i know about is a rock band :-p. I'm guessing ohm's are represented by the Omega sign near the bottom?

I just want to thank you for a great guide. i got my gamecube the day it came out.i have burned 12 games all work fine. I took the gcos on my max pro card and put it on a regular memory card. I put my regular memory card with the gcos in slot b by it's self. I run the max pro disk with the one memory card up to the choose region screen then i put in a regular memory card with just game saves in in slot A. I use ritek mini dvd's and burn with a light-on dvd burner using Nero 6 burn speed 4x. You must make sure to finalize disk or you will get disk read errors. I know there is a lot of problems out there and i just wanted to share my thoughts on this to maybe help someone.

Wondering if anyone knows how you can use the Max Drive Pro memory card to play emulators/roms on your gamecube. Do you just download the program and put it on the card? Anyone whose had luck doing this please let me know.

Great topic. Lucky I didn't immediately jump and buy the Max Drive Pro. I used the Action Replay mentioned a couple of pages ago and it works great.

Hey, just a thought, if this works for the GameCube, any thoughts that this exact same process will work on the Nintendo Wii when it is released? I would imagine it's a possibility, since it plays the GameCube games, and has the GameCube memory card slots (as of now). Any thoughts?

You gotta be joking, right? Nobody has a slightest clue if this would work on a Wii. Besides, get a mod chip, this method sucks.

Geez, I'm sorry for asking. I know that nobody has any idea how the Wii will work, but seeing as though it contains the GameCube hardware, there could be a chance. I was just wondering if anybody else had thought about the possibility. Christ.

Defintely not the same hardware. The Wii will have the Hollywood graphics chip. This chip has been under developement for 5 yrs, and ATI is still working on it. Thats why Nintendo had rigged up Gamecubes at E3 this year. This also means the graphics we saw will be alot better than the demos they showed.

So I got everything in the mail today. I can boot up gcos just fine, but I got an error trying to load disc. I figured I just burned it wrong. I tried to load up my imported game, and it hangs on the "setting up 06 drive" screen. I can boot up my imported game just fine with freeloader, so why does it not work with gcos? Any help would be appreciated.

I just bought a gamecube a month ago with the intention to mod it. I was just wondering since my gamecube is the newest version (super smash bros. bundle/ platinum edition) would that make it likely I'd have problems with the laser/pot issues.
I really don't want to open my cube!

I think I am all set. I figured out why my import would not play, I was selecting back up instead of original dvd. I tweaked my laser today. I am using the X1K setting for Ohms. The first time after I tweaked it, it said no disc when I tried to load up the md pro disc. So I rechecked it adjusted it and now it works and plays my back ups fine. I think I might of turned it the wrong way the first time. Is that even possible?

I tried chaing the burn speed and tweaking the laser more but nothing seems to work the sad thing is the games play for like 3min and then randomly stop.
ANY ideas?

I think I read somewhere that if the games work for a short period upon boot that you should raise the ohms of your laser. Try raising it and see if that helps.

Has anyone tried a multi-games disc with a max drive pro running the GCOS 1.5 ? I plan to burn a donkey konga compilation disk and I'd like to know if anybody already did the same thing with ALL the games working. I just don't want to waste my great Ritek disks. Thank you !
