I just made sure that the settings included association with ISO's and went from there. I use IMGBURN for games and DVD's. I have had only one problem with a game and changed the burn setting to 4X and have had no problems since. If that is not enough info maybe someone else can be more helpful. Good luck.

PM me for more questions concerning the burn error. I may be able to help.

I spoke too soon. I am trying to burn Super Smash Brothers Melee. It burns good but then I get an error message "The game disc could not be read. Read the Nintendo Instruction booklet for more information."

brucedlx you are the man. THank you so much because without this thread i would have never done this.
I bought the max drive pro from the code junkies link just like you said to do in your tutorial. I followed your amazingly easy guide to soft mod the gamecube and now I have burned over 30 games.... they all work. NOT ONE BAD DISC WITH RIDATA's.
Its so easy with max drive pro... i had a mini burned when the Max Drive Pro got to my house and it took NO-LIE 10 minutes to play my first game FIRST TRY and everytime after that FLAWLESSLY!
First i ordered 10 ridata mini's from newegg.com for $10 and i didnt have one bad burn. LINK --> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817132372
Then i got cocky and went to a compUSA and bought 10 mini's (compUSA brand $15!!) I tried 2 and they didnt work so DONT TRY ANYTHING ELSE BESIDES RIDATA!!!
After that i oredered from Meritline.com 20 ritek mini's for $11!!!
LINK --->
http://www.meritline.com/ritek-mini-dvd-r-media-4x.html THEY'RE 10 packs are FREE RIGHT NOW WITH MAIL IN REbATE!
Also i have an NEC burner wich is KEY in burning discs. Because if u have some old Sony brand dvd burner that you bought 3 yrs ago for like $200 from a bestbuy... its not going to burn discs like my $30 Nec from newegg ... so when u make the mini's order GET the NEC dvd burner thats like $30 and BURN GAMECUBE GAMES.
THANK YOU AGAIN BRUCE!

brewgod23: if you are burning everything right, and it still doesnt work, you are have problems with your laser. you need to open up your gamecube and adjust the laser POT settings. there is a link in one of these previous pages that teaches you on how to do that. hope this helps.

Which NEC burner do you have? I have a Liteon DVD-R/RW/+R/RW, anyone successfully burn with Liteon?
ALSO, have you successfully connected the drive to a computer to backup game data?

PM me for information to your questions. I think I know what your problem could be if you have not fixed it already. I have had this problem happen before on other games.

its such a damned bummer...i got the same mini dvd's from newegg....ive tried 2 different dvd burners, but i get the same results, disc read error...
my buddy got the cheapy office max mini dvd's and said theyre all working fine for him. ive still got about 15 of those mini dvd's left, but i dont have any other dvd burners to try burning in...
so im guessing its not my media but the burners i have that arent doin it right?

I have this dvd burner ( I THINK ) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827152035 Its out of stock at the moment.
I think this is the same one in beige http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827152059
What you need to do is just pick a dvd burner with a perfect rating that has over 100 reviews and your pretty much garunteed that it will work.... or just get one of those NEC's :)
Also i dont know what you mean.... Backup game data??

Yea get one of those NEC's .... i say this because i have the black one and i get the SHITTIEST DVD-r's... i mean real shitty 100 packs for $20 and my movies/data discs always work no problem! and the Gamecube games work great with it but ONLY RIDATA ... i already tried CompUSA brand and i stopped at 2 bad burns.

Yea i thought he meant like actually putting a save from a game i burned onto my computer for some reason.... i did connect the max drive pro to my computer through the usb and load the Gcos onto it.
P.S. to people that dont know whether to trust codejunkies or not.... I ordered from them and it came to me no problems what so ever(it took lke 2 weeks)...im in New York City
BUT!!! I DID ALMOST HAVE A FUCKING HEART ATTACK!! because when it came in the mail the max drive pro doesnt actually say "PRO" on the packaging.... but when you open it theres 2 discs and they say pro on them. I fuckin called england or wherever codejunkies is to find that shit out!

I think im just going to spend $20 on a chip. Seems like to much hassle using the Max Drive Pro method.

hmmm..... really it just relies on what burner you have and what discs you use... whether you get a chip or not u still need a burner and 8cm disc's... just get the right one's and all you need is to get the max drive pro... 4 me it took 10 minutes to get working.. its been prefect ever since.

yea, but you have to boot with the max drive pro each time, correct? Plus, the chip is half the price.

very true but i dont care about booting up games because modding with a chip is a huge headache for me....There would be a forum like this just for "Opening the case" Then thers all the people who mess up.... its so confusing. There an unlimited amount of bios to choose from.... on top of all that crap u loose your warranty.
I tried with xbox... i really did.. i got as far as succesfully installing the chip and flashing... then i had to "NETWORK" to my pc.... needless to say ITS NOT FINISHED and i had to make it past so many opstacles to get where i got with the thing..... to me thats a "Hassle".
I dont even want to here the word "CHIP" again in my life. Max drive Pro was accomplished the day it arrived, i was playing over 10 burned games. Im still using it and i havent read a problem yet why there should even be a modchip for people that just want to play burned games.
