bunswald, are you sure that COM port 2 is the correct port?
Did you try COM port 1?

"Cant open serial portComp 1
Please check if the com port has the following parameters.
Baudrate : 115200bps
Parity: no parity
Databyte : 8 bit/data

If your operating system is XP or Vista, you should be able to open the file with Windows.
When WinRAR says "Please purchase WinRAR license", just click close and you should be able to open the file inside the archive.
USB to COM port adapters can cause a lot of trouble..
Right click on my computer, select "Properties", select "Device Manager" (it's in the Hardware tab on Windows XP), find your USB adapter in their and right click on it, once again select properties
Once in the properties of your adapter, there should be an option within to change the COM port and settings.
Change the COM port to COM1 and the other settings to match the parameters that STB editor requires. I don't have an adapter to hand so I can't guide you through the whole process, sorry.
I'm glad to be of assistance :)

Prior to posting his question he had WinRAR installed and set as the default application for zip archives with the extension .zip
I did not ask him to install WinRAR, but as seen as he had such setttings I proceeded to help him based on those.
There are plenty of other programs capable of extracting files from zip archives including WinZip, WinRAR, 7-zip, and Windows explorer (XP and above)

as long as you install the little disc that comes with it first and are not using vista you should be fine otherwise i would recommend using a comport if you have an old pc or a friend has
