Hi

Just got a M3 DS Simply and everything seems to be working fine so far. One question - sorry if its ben asked before - can you exit a game and go back into the M3 DS Simply GUI without having to shut down and restart?

Thanks

Yes, to do a soft-reset you need to make sure the little circle at the top right of the touch screen is green (red=off, green=on) before loading the game, then when in game you press L+R+A+B+X+Y and the game will quit back to the M3.

Nice one thanks. I can't check this as my brand new DS broke seconds after leaving my post!

Turned it off and when I turned it on again all I got was black and white vertical stripes in both screens. On its way back to Amazon.

Is my DS broke?

Got it today and immediately put in the M3 DS Simply. Worked a charm. However turned off the DS to quit a game and when I turned it back on all I get is sort of black and white vertical stripes on both screens. I can here sounds if I touch the keys so it operates - I just can't see anything.

I take it this is busted?!

Hi mr_hanky, I just downloaded some new games and it says that the data could not be accessed. Power off the DS and reinsert the game card. I'm not sure how to solve this problem.

Thank you

@Bobby117
this is very easy to fix mate , you will need to update your firmware !
current version is V1.08 and will sort out any of your problem games .
link here - http://www.handheldsources.com/M3DS/Download_M3DSS.html

ps. this is the one i used - System v1.08 - (Console software- English version update)

ive got a question for those who have used the dumper.nds tool successfully. im using an m3 perfect (sd) on a DSL; was wondering if it prefers a certain slot 1 booter over others? i have a passkey2 (with the switch on the back) and a "passcard". will one of these do fine or should a passme as well?

I currently have a M3DS Simply, and I'm wondering how to put eBooks onto it... Can anybody tell me?

And another thing... How do I make 1393 - Worms - Open Warfare 2 (US) work on my DS? Whenever I finish loading it, the screen says something like:"Game cannot load. Please reset DS." Or something...

Anyone got a decent link for the latest M3 DS Simply firmware?

The download link in Mr Hankys guide still has v1.07 as the latest version, but its up to 1.09 now. I've used this site HandHeldSources
which is up to date but very slow.

Don't know about the R4 (which I think is more or less the same as a M3) but I got my M3 DS Simply here:

http://www.model-gadget.com/shop/product_info.php?products_id=716&osCsid=a366005b0588baa1c8792ee2d4050688

I also added a 2 GB memory card (see option at bottom of page) and the lot, including P&P, VAT cost £45. Delivery was very quick.

You may get it cheaper elsewhere but as I said they were very efficient.

Oh and I should have said the M3 DS Simply was very easy to set up (following Mr Hankys excellent guide) and use. So far every game I've put on it works like a dream!

the m3 simply and r4ds are exactly the same except that the r4 gets the (same) updates before the simply, so the r4 would be a better buy. however, if i can make a suggestion, i would buy the m3ds real. its pretty much the same as the r4 and the simply, but better in almost every way; it has better support for homebrew, support for sdhc cards ( more space for more games!), able to boot to the nds's native homescreen without taking out the cart ( so you can play "download and play" games with your friends), and has support for the gba expansions carts so you now can play gba roms and gba homebrews (including emulators). it's basically an updated m3ds simply, in that it no longer has the downfalls of the simply. whichever you decide im sure you will be satisfied; ive been a m3 owner for many years now and have never been disappointed.
cheers, sickley

I have had my Simply for almost a year now. I share my DS with my 2 yr old son and I've noticed that sometimes .nds files have gone missing after he's played with it. I have a few games on there just for him and he's really good at playing nicely with the DS but sometimes he tries to change the game when I am not available or he just doesn't ask. Is there a way to disable deleting files from the card while it is in the DS? I have no idea how he is doing this... but sometimes the .nds file is missing and once or twice he's deleted the .sav files as well. I know someone will reply with a response saying not to let him play with it... and that's not gonna happen. He is deleting the files, or should I say there is a way to delete the files while on the DS and it's not a malfunction or something. Thanks.

Oh, and I just ordered a M3 DS Real... wondering if I'll have the same issue with this one as well. I am actually planning on passing my Simply on to my nephew.

On the Simply you can delete files from within the menu (I think it's the 'X' button) you are prompted if you're sure you want to delete the file.

The M3 DS Real does not have a delete function (at least not one that I could find) which is a small annoyance for me but I guess it works out better for you.

Awesome... it is such a pain that he keeps deleting files then whines about not being able to find his game when he wants to play. My Real should be at my house by now... I ordered it Wednesday and got it Monday (though I haven't gone to pick it up.) Thanks so much for the quick response... Happy Holidays.

Help Required! Started using M3 simply today but dont seem to get any option to save games (have played around with Hotel Dusk, Mario Cart, Brainy type games...) so if I want to stop playing all I can do is switch off? I am creating the save game file when opening the game but dont seem to be able to save anything...Is it just that I have not got far enough in the game to save? Start or Select buttons dont do anything. If I cant save games then there's no point...

Or does it save to the save file when I power off (doubt it).

Thanks in advance....

It saves when you use the normal method of saving in that particular game (so it acts just like a normal game) you don't do anything special to save.

@vickypind
the m3ds simply does not work with a sdhc micro sd memory card .

i recommend you buy a 2gig kingston micro sd memory card and it will work perfect ( its what my kids use ).

also its a good idea to put the latest firmware on the memory card for your m3ds simply , current version is V1.09.
