I've been using an R4 (without any problems), but I just purchased the M3 DS Real because it supports micro SD HC cards. After receiving the M3 Real, I quickly inserted my Sandisk 6GB SD card only to discover that the GUI was very slow and none of the games would launch.
I did some testing, since I couldn't find anything online that described my problem. After I removed several games from my memory card in order to get the used space under 4GB, everything worked fine. I haven't gone back and added the games to make sure that the size is definitely the problem, but there appears to be a correlation.
I may due some further testing, but as of right now, you might want to rethink purchasing an M3 Real if you thought you'd be able to load a SD MC card with more than 4 GB of games. Of course, it may just need a new firmware update.

Update: I just ran across a link talking about a limit of 128 games in 1 folder. That may be the issue that I'm having. I don't have access to my DS at this moment, but I'll count the number of games and see if that's the problem. If it is, then I'll have to see if there's a way of getting around it. I know that the games on the R4 can be placed in different folders, but I didn't notice that as an option on the M3 Real. Again, I'll post any further updates as I receive them.

Testing Complete: The problem is definitely caused by having more than 128 games in the NDS folder. I haven't found any documentation stating that the games can be placed in a different folder, so hopefully there will be an update that will allow for more than 128 games in a single folder. (I know, do I really need more than 128 games? Probably not, but I have 6 GB, so why not use it all.)

Once downloaded extract the files anywhere in your hard drive. You need to find the folder called ?system Vx.xx LL? where X is the firmware revision and L the language, open this folder and copy the entire contents to the root of your MicroSD card.
Although I never mention Moonshell this step does copy Moonshell to the MicroSD card.

Your also in the wrong thread then, the M3 Real thread is here.
The M3 Real uses a different firmware to the M3 Simply and R4 which is why it isn't working, a link to the download site is in the M3 Real guide.

Mr_Hanky - Sorry about posting in the wrong thread. This is my first time posting on this site, so I had to create an account. After validating from the link sent to my e-mail address, I obviously posted my comment to the wrong thread.

M3 simply playing pokemon diamond unable to connect to wii pokemon revelations. Is this a hardware problem which would make it unfixable or fingers crossed can a firmware solution be found. Any help greatly apprerciated.

I see you have edited your post from Originally posted by pwr0n: yo d00d, the latest firmware is still 1.07 as of this time-stamped post
so I guess you have already realised the mistake :P
The latest firmware is now actually v1.10 I cannot remember the change log for each new release but I believe they are mainly bug fixes for various games with v1.10 to fix Final Fantasy.
The download site I link to is obviously not being updated any more, so I will change it to the M3 website (which unfortunately is usually very slow for downloading)

The M3 Simply cannot connect to the Wii version of Pokemon at the moment, I doubt it is a hardware problem and it could possibly be fixed in a future update however it is unclear why it is taking so long to be done.

The M3 DS Simply does not and will not support SDHC, if this is an important feature I would recommend buying a new cart that does support SDHC (such as the M3 DS Real or DS TopToy)

I had a little look through the forum, and apparently it wont work if you have a sandisk card - i got the 4gb sandisk one and i had the same problem as you, have now ordered a 2gb Kingston card which, hopefully, will work as someone said elsewhere.

I need some help,
A) For Hardware I have a 1) DS Light, 2) M3 DS Simply, 3) Kingston 4 GB Micro SDHC card.
B) For Software I have down loaded and extracted the "System_v1.10-English" on my computer.
C) I have copied the two folders "_system_" and "moonshl" and the two files "_DS_MENU" AND "_DS_MSHL.NDS" onto the micro card.
D) I have added one program onto the card under a game folder.
E) When I turn on the DS with the cards in the slot, I get the first white Nintendo DS screens on the top and bottom for about 2.5 - 3.0 sec. Then the bottom screen goes black and the top screen goes black with the words says "Loading..." for ever.
Question: I am trying to get the main menu to boot up but nothing happens, what am I doing wrong?
Thanks,
JHJ

Oh yea, I also formated the Micro card with FAT32 and default allocation size before putting any files on the card.
Thanks,

It does not like 4GBHC cards i found this out from another forum site. Max you can use is 2GB NON HC
