Well then Amanda, you need to install the software drivers that came on Disc with that adapter. Once installed you will be able to set the COM port number to connect to the box.
With some of these adapters there's actually three drivers to be installed so you may have to repeat the process more then once.
Do you have the disc?
Where did you get the adapter?

Yes I have the disc in the drive at the moment and the box connected to the usb adapter, should i disconnect the box while installing the drivers?
I got the cable with the box and bought the usb adapter in Petes

I got the cable with the box and bought the usb adapter in Petes
Browse the disc contents to see if there's a setup file there, if there is just run it.
If not, (With the box disconnected) plug in the USB adapter & wait for the "Found new hardware wizard" then either choose to point to the disc when given the option or choose the option that says "No, I will choose the driver to install but then click on the option for "Have Disc"

i have just reflashed my box, however after doing a powerscan i have lost 70% of my channels, ne1 got ne advice, plz help

ok first of have you scanned on your proper provider try both 6887 and 6952 (im not sure about the uk)make sure your coaxil is firmly fixed into the rf in on the box,make sure your scart is in the tv scart on the box and not the vcr but firstly tell me which kuro firmware you have on your box press menu config system info

the kuro is called kuro image v3 with 8% signal fix. yep everythink is correctly inserted on eurovox

try the kuro 18/04 firmware which can be found in eamos library eurovox folder under y pic,by the way whereabouts did you get that firmware from thtas not what it says in your system info.

i got this from bigmaq, system info says.
model: DVB-XC BOX V TDA
S/W VER: 1.0 STC4 APR 28 2008
H/W VER: 2.0T K5
BOOTSTRAP: V001
S/W BUILD: KURO
ne ideas m8?? plz help

yes just what i have just told you put the 18/04 firmware on and you should be ok,if you need firmware in futher come here and don't use dodgy toolbars.
