I did it at max speed write is that the problem, I think I should have done it at 4x I will do that. Another question have is that since this game is online playable. How to you do that code thing some guy posted early can anyone tell me that step by step and can you reuse a dvd?

another easy way to copy ps2 games are to use roxio easy madia creator and click on data disc to burn the ps2 dvd game and if you want you can get the software called any dvd from slysoft.com which removes all the encrytion from the disc it self and i have been using maxell DVD-R had no problems so far.

What happens when you put in the disc? Your PS2 booting method or ps2 might not like re-writables.

Not sure what that means i have the PAL version, have you any other backups? You could try it on a DVD-R to see if it works?

Hello everyone, I have a problem with my copied games. I use DVD Decrypt to backup my games. It says it was copied successfully. Then I use the Game Shark and swap method to play the game and it doest work. Can you use the Swap method with the gameshark to play backup games? It works with a regular ps2 game or ps1 game just not my dvd games. My system is old ....Model Number SCPH 30001
I a using Memorex DVD+R DVD's and a Memorex DVD Burner and like I said using DVD Decrypt. Am I doing something wrong? Or do I need to invest in a mod chip?
Thanks for any help.

I wouldnt invest in a chip if your ps2 is old just incase it croaks and youve spent all that money on a chip, swap magic is fine, and your ps2 might not like the +R try -R to see if it works, if not you might have to buy swap magic if you want :)

Nevermind about the Pm :) And yeah try the -R then if you need to, swap magic can be found at a few locations you can get them where you buy mod chips, depending where you live? the prices range between $12-$50

Yeah you need to burn the MDS file NOT the ISO file, you should just go MODE>ISO>WRITE select the MDS file and speed and click the button to go :) That should be all.

Ill be at school, so might not be able to answer till i get home :( Bye

This is my "how-to" for copying PS2 games. I have not had a game fail to play as of yet using my method below. I strongly encourage folks to not just create an image with DVD Decrypter, and then burn it back. You stand the chance of just seeing a black screen, or having skipped playbacks in both movie and graphics.

Here's how I burn my games using a "borrowed game" or "rented retail game."

For playing my burned games, I use a newly installed lid for my PS2, and I use...
1. Swapmagic 3.6, which comes with 2 boot discs. One is a DVD loader and the other is a CDR loader.
You don't always have to burn a game to a Blank dvd if it will fit on a blank CDR.
2. Depending on which CD type your burned the game to, determines which boot loader disk you insert into the PS2.
3. Once the load states "load program", I simply remove it and insert my burned game.

You can find the new lid and Swap Magic disc set combo here:
http://www.thegiantstore.com/index....PROD&ProdID=338

Burning a copy from an original (say rented copy).
There are 3 tools I recommend that you use. All of them are needed to be able to follow through my how-to session.
Dvd Decrypter: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/v...d_decrypter.cfm
Isobuster:
http://www.isobusterdownload.org/isobuster_all_lang.zip
Cdvdgen:
http://www.btinternet.com/~ps2rippininfo/tools/cddvdgen.exe

You can simply use DVD Decryptor to create an image of a retail game, then burn the image back to a blank DVD or CDR (depending upon the size of the image). Then you have a playable game.
If your game stutters during playback (sound skips, frequent freezing of images), then you need to use ISObuster on your image. The reason is because the "system file" is too close to the outter edge of the burned game disc.
1. Open ISObuster.
2. Move it to the side, and drag your image file that DVD Decryptor created, to the right box of ISObuster.
3. You now see the file names and folders for the game. Write these down in the order you see them.
4. Now, create a new folder on your desktop called "iso-rebuild-temp".
5. Drag, file by file, each part you see listed in ISObuster to the new folder.
NOTE: This process rids the original iso file from excess, dud space, which will inturn
reduce the image file size dramatically without loss of game play quality.
NOTE: if the drag and drop doesn't work for you, you can right click each part, select "extract"
and click on your new folder.
6. Once you have dragged (extracted) each part over, close ISO buster.
7. Now, you need to open the program cd/dvd-rom generator.
8. When opening it, tell it "new project", then "create dvd."
9. Drag, in order you wrote them down, the files from the extracted folder to the generator.
10. When done, click the Volume button.
10A. For the disc name, put in the numbers shown next to the system file for the game.
10B. For the Producer, put in Playstation.
10C. Click the Record button at the top right.
11. You will get two errors with this program, this is correct.
12. Next, File/Export IML and select a newly created folder (you might name it IML-files).
13. Once this is done, open up GDVD IML2ISO. This program will rebuild your iml files, by you
telling it to open the first IML file that was created.
14. The final result will be a much smaller image file of the game, thus, this will bring the
system file for the game closer to the inner ring of the disc.
15. Use DVD Decryptor or your favorite iso burner software to burn the iso to a blank disk.
16. Enjoy your game.

Hello. I am having problems with burning my ps2 game(splinter cell: pandora tomorrow). I am using DVD Decryptor. Here is my process: So tell me what I do wrong.
1. I open dvd decryptor and ISO->read SplinCell from the E:/(plextor burner).

2. It creates a .IMG file??? called PANDORA.IMG.
3. I go to ISO->write and choose PANDORA.IMG as the source(it displays the file as C:/PANDORA.ISO).
4. I choose teh destination as E:/(after I took out SplinCell and replaced it with a DVD-R).
5. I tell it to burn. (x1 is the speed). The discs(SplinCell & BurnedDisc) when viewed in a window look identical.

For some reason the burned disc will not operate with my ps2.(Its a newer flat one)
Please help me. Thank You.
P.S I tried to select the .MDS file that was read from teh Splinter Cell game but it will not let me choose it as source. The error: Reach end of file.-something like that..

-Gila
